I'm the exact audience these were made for! I remember the Remco figures from 1983, and these are exactly the additions I would've wanted back then. I pre-ordered these as soon as they were available, and I LOVE them. They perfectly capture that 80s feel. Even the wonky off kilter packaging works for me. Hopefully we can one day get the Thundarr figures that Remco teased in 1984.
When is tbleague is going to make all the frazetta characters
The retro Frazetta dinosaurs like the upright walking T.rex making a comeback would also be welcome.
i just ordered mine
Wow I had that Remco Conan as a kid. The memories
Gotta be honest, to me these look like something I'd see in the toy aisle at Dollar Tree.
ikr?
Love Frazetta's work, Death Dealer looks awesome. Found out recently that his house is only like 30 minutes from me, and his son runs a small museum there. Totally worth checking out if you're near East Stroudsburg, PA.
I've been there, its awesome.
@@dannycruz5446 motu related
the frazetta estate is making deals every day for products, (we've already seen a Death Dealer from FigBiz, Executive Replicas and Mezco) so eventually you'll see a NECA or Super7 version that may cost as much, but will come with WAY more stuff, so I'm happy waiting.
That Death Dealer is great! I'd sure love to have a Darkwolf in this style.
Ohhhhhh yeah!! *Everybody* from 'Fire & Ice'
@@TitularHeroine masters of the universe related
A Frazeta series could of been amazing, but these don't justify that incredible art.
agreed
@@lgerback34 death dealer is awesome
Man, I'm loving all these wild lines you're showing! 🤘🤘
Keep them coming Dan with 5.5 !!!
Looks like Huntress got the Jungle Lord bubble switched.
Good catch 👍
I like the idea, but I think MOTU Classics or Mythic Legions bodies are a better fit for Frazetta's art work.
After decades of his art being stolen for He-man knock offs, it's nice to finally have official Frezeta figures.
not just the knock-offs but also He-Man himself
@@torpedoboy4 I mean straight up traces and photocopies like how the Galaxy Warriors logo is just Against the Gods but with an axe instead of a sword, which is mostly likely referenced by these figures using the actual Against the Gods in their logo.
@@CharlemagneSupernova against the gods got ripped off a lot lol. Its even in the thundercats intro
@@dannycruz5446 Barbarian style related
Man these would look great with some of Sungold’s Galaxy Warriors figures since allot of those characters are inspired by Frank Frazeta art
I appreciate that maybe I'm not the target audience for these toys and that the jankiness is part of the appeal, but taped-together clothing? Honestly looks like some garbage you'd find in the toy bin of a doctor's waiting room, complete with the home-made repairs and ill fitting armour. Death Dealer is pretty cool, but with the money spent on this set you could have had the incredible Mezco figure.
The tape is only there to keep it securely in place in the packaging, and is supposed to be discarded. Her top is supposed to rest loosely on her chest, with a gap in the centre, as seen on the packaging artwork.
The jungle lord might have the absolute best he-man portrait ever 😍 🙌
Wow! Im a big Frazzetta fan since the 70s , i got to get me some of these!!!
Reminds me alot of Ralph Bakshi's "Fire and Ice", which he collaborated with Frazetta.
I was interested until I saw that price tag. The value ain't there for what I'm looking at.
These are pretty cool. I've always wanted some generic jungle tribes to go with my MOTU figures, so these will do nicely. More female figures is definitely a plus, since there were so few of them in Mattel's line.
Ehhh… I think these would be better with the origins style articulation.
The retro style I think doesn’t work as much because of the price point . We can get figures with 20 plus POA , alternate head or an heads for the same price
Death Dealer by himself was 64 dollars that's insane to charge that much for something with less articulation then a motu origins figure.
Mattel is a much larger company so they can do bigger production runs. Less figures produced = a higher price, which is just the reality for smaller companies.
@@Rocket1377 all of the other figures cost around half as much as Death Dealer. That shows they could charge less, but they know more people want him, so they decided to price gouge on him. When I saw that I decided to get none of them.
Wow great concept but… are these actually cheapely done or are they supposed to look cheap? And packaging is an insult to Frazetta’s gorgeous art.
Pixel Dan I saw that Jason David Frank who played Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise passed away yesterday at the age of 49.
Surprised, they skipped on using the painting "The Barbarian." It's one of his most iconic, if not his most iconic piece. It's pretty much the codifier of the barbarian design.
These figures look awesome!
My 3yr old found the flesh eater bought it for $2 today decided to look it up because of the art work on the packaging was interesting..the man that sold them had more
That tiger 🤣 c'mon 🤦♂️
That tiger mold comes from a vintage $500 figure. Some people like the nods to vintage 5.5. Thats what zoloworld is all about
@@IMIaTix fair enough, it kinda looks cool as how goofy it looks.
Ouch
Death Dealer is pretty cool though.
Loving these different 5.5 figures videos!!!
Frazeta's art is so influencial but the figures are lackluster, i wish zoloworld put twice more effort on it. Nice review once again Dan.👍
Im looking at my remco road warriors and yea they really look like they are made with the same mold as the awa remco wrestlers.
They are genius thats what zoloworld is
I like these! Thanks, Dan
I've got the Death dealer and you definitely have a wrong left foot shin armor, both sides should be different, also interesting is that my huntress figures clothing is the opposite of the ones you have, it's like they cut the design out mirror image.
Cool. I remember there was one-sixth scale Death Dealer figure put out by Phicen ( now TBleague) years ago. I always thought he was such an interesting and awesome looking character. He still does now
Is tbleague is going to make all the other death dealers characters
@@dwaindwain3372 Unfortunately no. I believe it was just a one off thing. They make one character from the line and that's it. And this figure was released ,like, 2014, 15 maybe
@@Jeflexful I was hoping tbleague will make all the frazetta characters
@@dwaindwain3372 Yeah. Me too. That wouldve been awesome
@@Jeflexful you agreed on all the frazetta characters
I eagerly await a Darkwolf figure
These are pretty cool - I would probably keep these in box though
If this is the same artists that did comicbooks (especially DC's Shining Knight) I loved his artwork whenever I would see it in reprints or yardsales and fleamarkets. The card art also looks great. I'll have to look up if he did sci fi or Wild West work too. Love the idea of translating novel cover and album art into action figures. Hopefully more of such great painted work by artists can get this treatment. Though with better bubble placement on the two heroes; what a shame to cover that great work.
When are they going to make more of all the frazetta characters
Hard pass on these. I have seen them on Instagram and my first thought was that they were bootlegs.
Bootlegs of what?😂 they are officially licensed. you arent familiar with 5.5 huh
So they're still cloning those Remco bodies... Aside from that, poor design (the paint applications and accessories don't fit at all with the 80s style look) and poor execution.
It's the galaxy warriors
Hi, actually not, Galaxy Warriors were the Sungold bootlegs, these are cloned from the Remco 'Lost world of Warlord' bodies, we did a reveiw of them a while ago
These are just ugly. Why? Who would ever want to display these? They look like the kind of stuff you'd find at the flea market in the 90s.
I have the Death dealer & jungle Lord... awesome figurers
Been waiting for my preorder to ship!
Ok can anybody help me with this, I found a motu classics modulok at a toy convention it was 60 bucks but it was missing its mid section, but then I noticed something strange, it had a green gun! I checked and it was the same sculpt as the regular black gun, so did I get some rare variant or just got scammed I looked and could not find any info on a green gun for modulok, if anybody can shed a little light on this situation I would greatly appreciate it, thank yo😁
Death Dealer is hands down worth every penny. $70 isn't going to break my bank and is sure beats getting scalped on Ebay for triple.
Paint bleed check. Junky dollar store sculpt. Check. Cloths are plastic taped without a single f given. Check. Heads don't actually come off. Check. Perfect
The heads do come off. So do the limbs.
Wow death dealer
They look like hell.
Nice to see Frazetta figures , but I want modern looking figures with better articulation ...... and they should be easy available and not cost more than $25 .
And again , the female figure is like in most toylines the worst . :(
Well, I'm not buying into these. Frazetta was a Master of Anatomy and Colour and Action. These don't do Him Justice. And the "Cat"? C'mon...doesn't even look like a Cat. And Frazetta really had a Talent for painting lively and believeable Cats. The best here is His Artwork on the Cards. No,sorry...I'm out this Time.
I'd expect better paint aps and package designs for that price tag .
I always liked his artwork. Did he create the characters from Fire and Ice?
What,
No Classic's?
LOL, Seriously those are pretty cool. I've a few issues on them, but on the whole, it's done- nowhere to go but forward with them.
DD looks cool, but they all look like 3-4th generation knock offs. $40-65 each? Fk that!
I can only imagine Huntress is confused as to where the fk her clothes went, not to mention the horror on her face from some of the pervs buying her “for reasons” best left unasked.
You do you, Dan. I’ll be skipping ever knowing about these.
Pauldrons, not shoulder pads : armour 101
These are just hilariously awful
I bought the entire set so I can get Death Dealer.
It comes full circle! After so many inspirations, bootlegs, and knockoffs, they finally get some legit figures.
Too expensive for QC issues like that!
I want to love these but they’re not doing it for me. I would love highly detailed 7” Frazetta figures.
Love Frazetta and realize these are made in a sort of retro style but they look cheap to me. $Woah, yeah at that cost enjoy them whoever buys them.
The quality seems to be pretty bad.
The lion pelt I think came off king conan
Wow... these are... um... kinda fugly.
Death Dealer is easily the best of them, and even then I do not love the fabric bits. Not a dealbreaker, just could have been better. He's clearly the one the toymakers gave a damn about. The rest are... not good.
These might go so well with Galaxy warriors seeing how those were basically bootleg Frazetta characters.
On second thought, honestly the sculpts and look of these is a little dissapointing, Death Dealer is amazing but everyone else just looks super cheap.
These are new?!?!?
The placement in the boxes are... terrible. These are basically figures that you NEED to take out of the box, and given that you want the art there, is a real real big shame in my back. I don't think it's a small thing. It's pretty big for people that prefer in box.
overpriced for what you get
Death Dealer is 64 dollars by himself and that's before shipping or anything. These are insanely overpriced.
👊
They look quite a bit like cheap MOTU knock-offs from the 80s... I guess the question is, was that the intention of the creators, or was it inadvertent?
Amazing idea, bad execution. It's ok to go retro on style, but not on quality.
I have some of the other Zoloworld figures, and the quality is actually quite good. They are intentionally meant to look retro, as many of their figures reuse the molds of the old Remco knockoff figures. They fit in nicely with the vintage He-Man figures.
@@Rocket1377 I have the Warlord from Remco and honestly, the sculpt looks much better than these. My humble opinion.
Hey Dan, why are you reviewing these obsolete MOTU knock-offs? They don't even look good. Frazetta looks even worse than Musculoids. Who would buy these???
if Frazetta was alive he would be pissed how awful they came out. McFarlane would have done these justice.
These are intended to be a tribute to both Frazetta and He-Man. Considering that Frazetta did some He-Man artwork, he would likely have appreciated these figures for what they are. It's obvious that the toy designers were trying to make Frazetta characters in the style of the Masters of the Universe toyline, not 1:1 replicas of his art.
@@Rocket1377 they look like vintage Mexican dollar store knockoffs.
@@Rocket1377 It's always hard to say what an other person (in this case Frazetta) would think or thinks , because you can not read his mind .
If I would be the artist , I would not allow to produce this figures .
I even was not happy with the Masters of the Universe Classics figures (Matty Collector) , because the figures was for me not good designed and looked too toyish .
I think Castaspella was my last last MOTUC figure , back in the days was the MOTUC figures easy to find brandnew and unopened at ebay under 20 Euro (that was back in the days arround $23) often with free shipping ... and even at this low price was the design of the MOTUC figures not good enough for me to keep collecting them longer .
no Conan No John Carter wats up with that i guess i half yo Wait. next year for. we ones
why are we accepting these in 2022. I get the retro want, but not at that price. they're Kroger cereal aisle toys.
Cool designs but I would have liked more articulated figures.
These figures are HORRIBLE... worse than 80's Heman action figures
More expensive than a neca figure and made of cheap 80s molds? How hipster of them.
These honestly look like bad bootlegs that came out 30 years ago... So sorry to say that, but that's what I think. Would have loved quality figures and would have went after them, definitely. But this is not for me.
Unbelievable ugly! The Artworks are so great! But these Figures?
I see some haters making comments. I ordered 2 Death Dealers and in hindsight I wish I would have bought 20.
Why tho?
Except for the Death Dealer, they're absolutely lame. A cash grab using Frazetta's name. That tiger is absolute garbage. I'll pass.
Están feillos pero me gusta el concepto.
Lol $40 for this? Nope!
Don't even care if the figures aren't all that great. Must. Have.
