No joke, i had no idea what a sock should be, until i bought darn tough merino wool socks. I bought a bunch of the lightweight thin ones and i don't think i'll ever buy any other kind of sock again. I wear them almost every day. As i wear out my junk cotton socks, they'll be replaced by merino wool, even for daily use. Freakin god send. Might want to avoid putting them in the dryer though, just air dry them. The lightweight ones are like normal socks in density/thickness, and i know it doesn't make sense, but they absolutely do not make your feet over heat in the summer time, despite being wool. Their are just better for your feet, antimicrobial, i've worn them 3 and 4 days in a row and my feet still didn't get nearly as gross as wearing cotton socks. Their expensive, but they are worth it, and they are durable.

Im doing an invasion of iraq (2003) us loadout with ccu in three colour desert. Btw i only have a woodland field near me so this is an awful idea

Why dont you wear a woodland mop suit? Even though that's like the 90's
I haven't got into playing airsoft yet but i want to and i really like the idea of doing a private security/pmc loadout because for the way i have it planned out i won't need that much.
I run ALICE gear with my desert storm recce kit. Looks cool. Great vid guys.

ArmchairWarrior ALICE was still in use by some people in the U.S. military during up until the 90s.
ArmchairWarrior ALICE is just the general name for the gear and it stands for All purpose lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment. LC-2 is just a modernized twist to the ALICE system but it's essentially the same concept.

I've been using a HPG Tarahumura for years now and it is the most versatile light pack ever. You might want to check out the Tarainsert, it' a light molle insert that adds a little rigidity to the pack and also allows for both molle and velcro pouch attachments for some simple small gear organization.
Man Candy. So my Rece rifle is a Krytac SPR. R hopped Promie barrel, max hop up, grip pod, magpul convertible sling, and burris 2x7 pistol scope. The pistol scope give a great amount of eye relief. 8 mags, 1 in the rifle and 4 in my chest rig, 3 on my belt.
I don't carry my oden, makes to much noise. I carry my pistol mags in my HSP chest rig. I run belt keepers and rothco combat suspenders. Keeps the weight off my thighs. I carry a multi tool and a 6x magnifier I use as a monocular for spotting at further distances and because the eye picks up movement. If your crouched its less of a visual foot print than swinging the rifle.
I always thought I wanted to be a sniper, but this sounds much more my speed
My favorite item to bring on recce ops is dumbells. When your sitting in the woods watching your target it's nice to get some gainz in.
Recon is my go to, I will carry a plate carrier depending on ops. 6 120 round mid caps for my M4, plus my hi capa side arm with 3 mags on the belt. No dump pouch because I'd rather index the mags then let them rattle around in the dump.

I have a Tactical Tailor MOLLE split front chest rig that I was able to snag from a local surplus store a few years back, I've been using for... bout 4 or 5 years now, and it's still in great shape. I gotta get new pouches though cause the ones I do have are just.. shit tier "phantom gear" pouches and they're just... falling apart lmao. I might get a different setup altogether, not entirely sure yet. As far as metal goes, Gojira became one of my favorites after seeing them, Metallica, and Avenged Sevenfold at the same concert last year in August. I'll be checking out the bands you guys mentioned as well.
I've been using the Titan batteries and they're great man. Not as high a rate of fire as lipo's but they're really good. Twice as long of a runtime and the don't lose charge over time of no use.
As for comms I use a Czechoslovakian field phone with about 800 ft of comm wire. I just leave one phone at our main base and I take the other with me behind enemy lines and set it up to make a hasty f.o.b. to operate and fall back to to get info out to our hq. I also leave ammo cans with co2 and bbs in the f.o.b. too.

thanks for your honest description on reckons loadout. my friend and I are planning our gear for a wide spectrum of game modes and low profile, minimal weight, maximal use etc. are the keywords.
U even made a point for my ammo problem and storage, because u know in germany (Bundeswehr) its 4 mags, 1 in the gun, 3 outside so 3 for u and 1 for the platoon (just in case), everyone is wearing. Taking in consideration that we will use low or (think we end up with mids), proofs our thoughts pretty damn right and the mentioned speedloader seems the answer to keep this running, without using highcaps and its flaws.
For my Reece kit I use the TT mk2 chest rig on the left pocket I have 1L of water and on the right pocket i have a 5x7 walmart tarp that packs down to nothing that I've painted and sprayed with silicone with pre set ridge line as well as my comms set up a compass and a flashlight red lense of course. In my fanny I keep my phone in a zip lock and another cliff bar with a water purification pill.

I ran a plate carrier for one game, sold it right after. I don't like how they feel, I dont like the bulk, it sucks on summer days, I swapped out my grenadier kit to a Condor MCR-4 with the 242 Hydro pack and I'm lighter and I'm faster. Also not too bad when I need ot run a 3 day pack either.

Just FYI in the army/marine infantry like real life you do “recce” so keep in mind if you play the part do the part
So what do the rest of you guys feel the ranges are for Rifleman, DMR and sniper's now? For those of us that are veterans I think the magic number was 200ft. If you had a rifle that was effective out to 200ft that was an exceptional rifleman and borderline DMR. DMR occupied that gap between 200-250 ft and sniper's were 200ft plus. Nowadays rookies have the luxury of stock weapons being able to make shots at 150-200ft. Its crazy....as sidearms can shoot 150ft and more as well. Your other video about upgrading was spot on. Value wise it is totally worth it to make the initial upgrades that can get most weapons to that magical 200ft range. But then you do run into diminishing returns after basic upgrades(barrel,hopup and bucking). 150.00 gets you way more initially than the following 200.00 that you sink in to your build for an additional 20-40ft
Hot rifles, I totally dig the tan with black vtac setup Eric's got.
Great video, but I would also recomend carrying a bright collored high visibility panel in your pants. They weight next to nothing but may save your life if something happens and you need to signal the rescue crew. Reflective vests work good as well and you can comfortably wear them as a dead rag

You all mentioned that since this is airsoft, it doesn't really matter what gun you use for a recce kit. However, to stay withing the spirit of a recce loadout, what are your opinions on a rifle like the vfc hk416a5 or the krytac mk36m (updated m14) that will be hopefully coming out sometime in the near future.

I have an umbrella armory krytac spr m recce and I go to ground zero the gun is insanely accurate and it has a good overall ability to go in all ranges

Troy sights difficult to adjust? Use a bullet tip or dedicated tool, I have never had an issue adjusting Troy sights
Nice setups, but what’s the point of playing milsim if you have an nearly unlimited supply of ammo? Besides from the sound these speedloaders make, it’s more fun if they are not allowed. Ammo cap is the way to go.

Yeah of course. Funny thing is that when I started out a few weeks ago I went and bought a loot of stuff and put everything on my PC. For every game I've attended since then I've taken things off of it. :D
But if I'll go to a milsim or something I'll for sure wear it and keep all the stuff on it. But for skirmish, nah.

Full Ghillie Suit with super quiet Polarstarred Sr-25. Do you guys see this as a viable and effective way to RECCE or is the fast moving lightweight RECCE almost always superior in the impact it can make on the game?
Unless you're doing a dedicated sniper role at an event that calls for it, ghillie suits are rarely worth it from my observation. It's usually better to stick with a squad and just have effective camo and solid movement with more breathable equipment. Of course, your mileage may vary, but those are my thoughts.
Try a head and upper back ghillie, those are the parts the enemy will see, anything more will not only be hot and heavy but also redundant.
