- Take a quick walk on the docks at Port Jefferson, NY as we watch the ferry pull in. Watching the ferry arrive is always a special experience and I'm thrilled to share it with you.
The Port Jefferson Ferry connects the north shore of Long Island to the south shore of Connecticut, specifically Bridgeport, CT. The ferry accommodates passengers and vehicles and has been in operation since 1883. The ride is roughly one hour and fifteen minutes. I've taken the ferry many times over the years and absolutely love it! It's an easy way to get off of Long Island without having to drive through 'the city."

Love, love, love the ferry :) There is another ferry to CT on the east end at Orient Point. I love them both. As a Long Islander I can say it is a much easier way to get to off island (as opposed to driving through "the city.")
