I notice that sibling murder of older chicks killing younger siblings is more prevalent among goshaws and golden eagles. Not so much with bald eagles. Oldest sibling will almost always kill the younger ones to eliminate competition for food and attention, especially more so during food scarcity.

Golden eagle, almost no second eaglet there.
Bald eagle, higher survival rate for second or third eaglet.
Goshawk, always 3 to 5 hawklets can be grown😂

I knew that was going to happen. Poor thing didn't have enough food to fatten up & gain strength from the get go. He just couldn't fight it.
