How can you tell when the bears are playing as opposed to fighting?
The same way you can tell when humans or even children are playing or fighting. There is no fierce. The moment that play becomes aggressive and fierce, they back off. You dont see them hurting or trying to hurt each other.

Maybe Otis isn’t sad but happy to have lived to an age he can be enjoying his SOCIAL security in his comfort zone. Do what he wants, no bothers, and interject when he’s ready. He is one “cool” bear.
He is not sad, he is totally focused and concentrated. He is old but has been very sucessful all these years and it is known for eating more than 40+ salmons per day!
He must be masive size. Love ya
