How to fix wireless printer losing connection after sleeping or after a period of time [FIX]

I was really sick and tired of my printer losing connection after a certain period of time and being unable to print as a result of it.
After years of on and off research and horrible customer service experiences I finally found the fix and I hope this resolves your issues too.
I searched around and around all over the world wide web for solutions until I stumbled across an article that addressed setting up a static ip address for your printer. Finally, it worked. A few weeks have gone by and the printer continues to print. I'm finally happy.
In short, the fix is a matter of setting up a static ip address for your printer.
After following my instructional video, make sure that when you print, you are selecting your printer with the new static ip address you created. For me it shows up as hp network printer when i want to print a document.
This video assumes you have already installed the software/driver for your printer. The software is likely not the issue; the ip address is.

I didn't use a different IP address but I used the one already assigned to my printer and this fixed it by assigning a new port. Thanks for the help!

VpN's cause trouble. Try turning off off or pausing your VPN

Yes! Losing my mind! What is the point of having a wireless capable printer if it fails to connect via Wi-Fi randomly and regularly? Mine is a Brother and I like it, but it drops the Wi-Fi almost every time I try to print remotely and I have to turn the printer off and then on again to get it to reconnect. Have been thinking of trying to set a static IP address b/c I read somewhere that setting a static IP address would resolve the issue. Now that I have watched your video I think I will give troubleshooting one more try. Thanks!
