Dark and passionate melodies are overcome with heavy metal inflection in this incredibly innovative and unique work for strings. The cello section imitates the sound of distorted guitars as the work unfolds, while upper strings soar over pulsating rhythms. Yes - heavy metal works for string orchestra. In fact, it works incredibly well! Wow!

    Hello,
I am a cellist and going to be playing this in my may concert. This definitely one of my favorites that I’ve played because of how well the different sections are used. The cellos being used mostly for our lower register but also for the emotional pizzicato at the beginning. The upper strings beautifully described as soaring. This piece is definitely good for showing people that strings can play more than classical like non-musicians may think. This piece is the most intensely lyrical piece that I’ve played in a while. Thank you to the composer for writing this masterpiece.

This is a criminally underrated song. It's absolutely gorgeous.

It isn’t said in the song but the song is written for a boy who passed away a while ago while still in high school I believe. He was a cellist who loved metal music and bands like apocalypta and other cellist rock groups like that.
