This review is excellent for me because it is a clinical analysis of the two instruments rather than a sales pitch for the two instruments. Thank you. I also appreciate your comment below that mentions you had tuning challenges with the floating bridge systems, and, that you finally purchased a standard Sälen model. That is helpful to anyone who may consider purchasing a Strindberg guitar.
Thanks man! I just thought the detaila would help others like me in making the optimal choice. They are both fantastic guitars but maybe one of them can fit one’s preferences better ;)
yeah, it did definitely sound more to my liking (cleaner/more defined) when I put back the original Suhr pickups; also I realized I recorded everything in Luna with a bit too much gain, so the guitars in general would sound more clear and less compressed
Great viid, well done..!! 😀 Did you end up keeping both? Would love to hear more of how each of these sound, especially the newer Salen model with the newer pickup (s)! Cheers!
Ahah thanks - actually I ended up selling both to get a standard Sälen model since I was having some sort of tuning stability issues with the floating trem on both, and pickups-wise it was the best fit for me. All killer guitars anyway!
@@telecasper thanks for the info. As some one who's on the fence about getting a strandberg. BTW curious about the standard Salen you got, Salen with single coil Tele pickups right ?
@@WillxE_TheGreatyes, got the very basic Strandberg in a Tele configuration. It’s the one I’m keeping and I enjoy playing that one more than the Plini versions frankly. A little less cool imo on the aesthetics but it foes the job better for me in terms of tuning stability and sounds. The Suhr pickups in it are killer!
Yes they both do. I just got a boden original and it's honestly one of the nicest guitars I've got and I've got a Gibson SG and Fender American Strat. It's a totally different type of guitar, but after playing it, it's making it harder for me to want to pick up my other guitars.

The boden plini is just ❤❤❤
Selling it if you’re interested! I’ve put it back to stock
Go to 14:00 for actual sound clips; I recorded the two Strandbergs straight into my Apollo Twin with Neural DSP plugins. Enjoy!
The new one has a lot more clarity in all of the examples. The old one has a bit more muddiness to it. Could be those aftermarket pickups.
