- Here are the embellishments used by Herbie Hancock in the original version, which I played in this backing track : F#m7b5 (11), F7 (9 #11 13), E7 (9 #11 13) and A7 (#9 b13). This is based on my transcription of all the voicings in the whole song (not only the head).

My, oh my, why is it so good?
Because it's so so so good......oh my...! From fellow jazziteer...enjoy!
this is a great video... i aways use it to teach my students how to improvise in the c blues scale and c dorian - thank u from salvador bahia - brazil
I thought it would be aeolian because the F has a minor 3rd
Thank you!!! I enjoyed recording with this fine track.
this is fantastic. great job and thank you for sharing.
Beautiful. Merci from California.
Alright!
So beautiful to play to 👌
Yeah Man!!!!!👊🏿
This song always makes me mist up🥹
You have to feel the 6/4 ( or 12/8 ) bar ......and the chords bluesy minor progression allows
interesting substitutions to support high voltage lines .
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Benton Neil i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Benton Neil it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Leonel Quinn Glad I could help :D
@@bentonneil7416 this kind of comment is strange. I've seen a few of these in other videos ... May this be a hacker?
set the playback speed to 1.5x to play the derek trucks version
NICE friggin' job! Sparse enough, too. So many backing tracks have too much information, especially rhythm changes. Yes, yes, we all wanna know what the changes are, but nailin' the I-VI-ii-V on rhythm changes all the time make it circus music-less is more when comping. As the great Lester Young once said to an especially busy rhythm section he picked up in New Jersey,
"Say fellas, just ticky-boom ticky-boom for Lester." He certainly could handle the rest!! Thank you! Great track.
Thanks a lot Jon !!
Jazz master
GI puts out great backing tracks! I set a goal to record one improvisation a week for 10 weeks over the summer and I ended up using GI backing tracks for all 10. Here is the last one of the series using this Footprints track: ruclips.net/video/f9hKy3oNgoU/видео.html
nice love that reverb
@@wiseartmusic5979 Thanks, I appreciate it. That's the Walrus Audio Slo Reverb pedal, I highly recommend it!

What key is this in? I’m not a master in music theory yet
Cm
Guitare Improvisation thank you
@@henrysaravia4661 the key tends to be the first note played and then you determine what orientation by how it sounds (major/minor)
You can play Cm7 in Gm Fm7 in Ebm, F#b5 in Bm, F7 in Dm, E7 in Cm or G melodic minor, A7 in Cmelodic minor or F#m
@@dylanwhite123 last note is a better system
whole-tone scale is a good one for the last line
@@paul43700 C whole tone or what key?
@@guitareimprovisation Une modeste contribution : cela ressemble à un D9 sans fondamentale style T Bone Walker
what dies #Ø mean?
The # is in relation to the F making it a F# and the crossed 0 means "halfdiminished" . So two minor thirds plus one major third, in this case play F# A C E :)
In addition to the last comment, it is sometimes called a m7(b5) (minor seventh flat-5) chord
The symbol "#" says that this note is an F but 1 semitone higher . Ø is a symbol that indicate half diminished chords (you can call also it m7b5)
Such a great playback, fade out sucks 👎 Pop songs have fade outs 😱
pop is good shut up square. it's not just one genre. it's a lot of things
