Tara is amazingly well composed for a young woman raised in an abusive environment that denied her her sexuality, her meaning to the family, her worth as an individual. Healing from this is a life long pursuit.

ugh the weird condescension of you people. jesus fucking christ. i promise you that you sat next to a girl in third grade who was the same and ignored her despite her being just as well composed. this isn't impossible. why do you care so much NOW- because she wrote a NYT bestseller?

Wow I love what she said about the importance of offering others a way into a conversation even when they would be gatekeepers! She is a bridge builder for sure!
I I’d love to have her on my podcast building bridges. It’s all about respectful navigating of leaving the LDS church with friends and family who stay and vice versa. She’s be a great voice. Anyone know how to get ahold of her?

People have been writing books for years, but those in control don't read them or change their corrupt way's. So what's to be done about them? Without changing the killer mentality the world will remain the same with the same problems.Humanitarian Principles have to be followed worldwide.

As a fellow ex Mormon, i really appreciate her nuanced approach to the whole cult idea. Mormonism is wild, no doubt about it, and it meets many of the criteria for being a cult, but it's good to recognize that a lot of groups approach culty behavior. Still gotta bring them to the table...

In the movie, "The Wife" Glenn Close's character says, "Editors of books, magazines and newspapers are men." Is that so different from the idea of estrangement from a family?

I've read her book & agree with what she says about education, learning, & our human experience. However, I fear she has believed the opinions of the MSM about Trump & I pray her search for truth about him, and all things, continues.

Key phrase - "Not allowing people to have imperfect memory but still have their perspective have weight and meaning and value...is because we're not valuing those people... " In other words, how people feel outweighs what really happened. It's an utterly ridiculous statement particularly in light of how easily memory can be manipulated. Of course, it does allow you to assuage your conscience as you feed your bias.
I can't help wondering if she isn't really referring to herself here. We know her recollection has been challenged, and she has often rebutted with maybe her memory of the event isn't that clear.
The ultimate problem is the way she totally trashed the character of others and made very strong accusations on the strength of those less than clear recollections.
