Sinbad the lion released by Born Free at their sanctuary in Shamwari. You can adopt Sinbad through the Born Free Foundation charity at: www.bornfree.or...
Isn't it a shame that a beautiful KING like this was help captive so long he has no idea what to do out of a small cage!! Thank you Born Free for giving this guy a chance to be the king he was born to be finally. I'm sure he did fine once he got used to freedom and is loving it!
Poor lion looks scared and confused. I hope he's doing well. I'm sure he's happier now; he just had to get adjusted. God bless him and all those who made this possible.
Sinbad looks so disoriented. Poor fur child of mother earth. How can humans be so cruel to cage an animal that is so majestic and profoundly take away his spirit? I do wish him well. Thank you for rescuing him!
I don't know if you guys realize this or not but he appears to be a Barbary lion which is a sub species of lion which is currently extinct in the wild. This is the type of lion which was used in the Roman Collaseums to fight gladiators. This species of lion is considered to be the largest of all the lions and usually has a dark mane which extends much further back and along the belly all the way to the tail. This is a very rare species of lion. The few of these that are left are all in captivity. I hope these guys take really good care of this rare gem. I don't know if they realize what they have.
They're all extinct i thought in the wild and captivity? I'm pretty certain. The few individuals left that 'come close' to the barbary lion due to interbreeding with the current living (soon to be extinct if continuing habitat loss/poaching) lion population in the wild. They are 40% and under i'm pretty sure. I hope you're right though, would be brilliant! Where did you find this out/sources?
Sidney Pierce Having a Big mane does not mean it's a Barbary lion, any type of lion is capable of growing these manes in cold climate so it's not unique to one subspecies, which means this lion could be any type of lion.
The confusion on his face is so clear. The fact that a LION, one of the strongest, fiercest, powerful animals on the planet is so stunned and unsure of the situation is absolutely heartbreaking. We are idiots to think we have any right to mistreat or mess with ANY living creature.
i just adopted him!!! he is so beautiful!!! i love lions and to be able to adopt one ad beautiful as sinbad is amazing!! loved George Adamson's work and i would love to be a lion conservationist one day, no animal deserves to suffer keep up the great work born free! i hope Sindbad is getting on well! :)
bex mclean when u adopt a lion and after a time u can't see about it what are you going to do I used to think the same thing adopting a lion would be fun but that's not fun at all.lions don't deserve to be living someone's backyard they deserve to be living free
Yes it does look very much a Barbary lion as you said used in the Roman arena for gladiatorial games. This one is stunning. Wish they could bring them back again. Soo sad. Because they are magnificent
Poor thing - initially he's like "Whoah - what the......?!!!" Then a few steps, he straightens up and has a good look at what he's walked into. Hope he lives a long life.
Rossenfolds I don't think its a real "adoption". I think tough can donate to his care and they call it an adoption. Kinda like the aspca used to do or maybe still does.
It seems this animal is still not well or bit confused... This lion is belongs to the subspecies of north african lions... Generally now it is not found anywhere in the wild. As a wildlife film maker I have shot many short films of Asiatic Lions but this clan is so beautiful and adorable.
at the link under the video - Sinbad is doing well. Half the expected size for a lion due to initial starvation and poor conditions but now doing well.

No sound on this. Lion was Scared. Hopefully he made out OK .I know this was years ago. Wonder if still alive.
It is never okay to mistreat an animal (or person), but l can't help but wonder if some of these "rescues" are not from improper homes... if some of these animals that were captive born and raised, are not moved from a "bad" situation to a "better" one ...but simply just moved away from what was theiR home and theiR people and all that was familiar and comfortable for them? No doubt most animals (like most people) do adjust and adapt to life's circumstances, but perhaps, soMetimes, we are mostly efforting to make ourseLves feel better and may, or may not, be actually improving anything for the animal?
It's a African mountain lion (Atlas) wish use to exist in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya, it's more big than a African today lion and very Ancient, that lion could be the last existing of it's kind, the Atlas lions and females mostly are red skinned so i hope this one is the original Atlas lion.
Look at him, he doesn't even know what to do with all that space! How heartbreaking and beautiful
What a magnificent lion. Absolutely gorgeous...poor guy looked shocked when he was released.
American Made hi friend GOOD

The moment he struggles with the realization his life has dramatically changed for the better. Wonderful minute and thirty seconds film.
I am crying watching that beautiful lion's utter confusion at what he is seeing. Humans are so cruel.
He's in shock..probably never was in the sun..heartbreaking to see a wild animal reacting to a natural environment with confusion.
Poor lion looks scared and confused. I hope he's doing well. I'm sure he's happier now; he just had to get adjusted. God bless him and all those who made this possible.
Such a magnificent animal!!! He is stunning. Bless his heart. And all the people that made this possible for Sinbad. 🙏
I love how he's looking around just taking it all in...hes completely bewildered... In a good way 😊
What a majestic animal.
Sinbad looks so disoriented. Poor fur child of mother earth. How can humans be so cruel to cage an animal that is so majestic and profoundly take away his spirit? I do wish him well. Thank you for rescuing him!
Thank-you for giving him the chance to roam the way he should have been able to in the first place!!!!

you are correct. i hope they feed him properly n the right vitamins n minerals to restore his health so they can breed him to another barbery lioness

Carol Veloz
Just because he has a large mane like that, doesn't mean he's a Barbary lion. Again, lions grow massive manes in cool or cold climates.
Asian lion.
kinda hard for me to be super happy, his reaction broke my heart. thanks for showing the king the beautiful sky
Wow 😮...what a beautiful Barbary Lyon 🦁🐾gorgeous 💖🌷
Just to look at his surprise is priceless. I hope from now on he finds his happiness.
The confusion on his face is so clear. The fact that a LION, one of the strongest, fiercest, powerful animals on the planet is so stunned and unsure of the situation is absolutely heartbreaking. We are idiots to think we have any right to mistreat or mess with ANY living creature.
I wished this video would have been longer!
What a Magnificent beautiful lion with that thick dark mane.
i just adopted him!!! he is so beautiful!!! i love lions and to be able to adopt one ad beautiful as sinbad is amazing!! loved George Adamson's work and i would love to be a lion conservationist one day, no animal deserves to suffer keep up the great work born free! i hope Sindbad is getting on well! :)

I also wish this video could have shown us a lot more about the lions release , sinbad looked stunned to be there
What a Stunning Male Lion! He looks thoroughly bewildered, tho. Poor guy hasn’t realized how his life has changed for the better yet❤️😍
Yes it does look very much a Barbary lion as you said used in the Roman arena for gladiatorial games. This one is stunning. Wish they could bring them back again. Soo sad. Because they are magnificent
I could wish this video was accompanied by some of his story.
I do hope he did well and was able to enjoy his life after rescue.
what a magnificent lion thank you for sharing and thank you for saving him would love to know more keep us updated
WOW! He's a beauty. I'm so glad he has a large space to run around in and be a real lion. He deserves even just that little bit.
Poor thing doesn't even know what to do and so weak. Glad he has a better life now.
This footage is amazing. Something I would never get to see otherwise. To see the animal and the workers, thank you for taking video of these events.
I think is in awe and in wonderment at his new surroundings
i wish this vid was longer.i have never in my life seen a lion to be stunned and shocked this lion didn't know what to make of it great vid.
Poor thing - initially he's like "Whoah - what the......?!!!" Then a few steps, he straightens up and has a good look at what he's walked into. Hope he lives a long life.
He has the most massive mane I've ever seen on a lion.
I love Sinbad the lion so much
Oh he is magnificent!!!
I adopted him sooooo long ago man.... Ma heart man
That was beautiful.
He is beautiful
This lion is more calm then I thought.
:50 the lion is so confused. I, myself, am very excited and happy for him. they deserve so much better.
Brilliant 🦁
Sinbad is very well. Our brand new adopt magazine, featuring updates on all our animals will be sent to all current adopters within the next month
Born Free Foundation why did you put up the lion for adoption?
Rossenfolds I don't think its a real "adoption". I think tough can donate to his care and they call it an adoption. Kinda like the aspca used to do or maybe still does.
Gorgeous animal
This makes me cry
Look at how skinny he is. Thank you for saving him
Oh Wow is He one of the rare Barbary northern lions thought to be extinct but then was found in circus's world wide.Beautiful.
Thank you !
What a beauty
I came here sad (mo problems less money etc ) now I feel allittle HOPE!!!!
What a beauty barbery lion
That was a well executed half-curtsy he pulled off @ 30secs into the video - he has stolen my heart - baba!
He could hardly believe that it was really happening. It just seemed too good to be true.
He looked very confused and happy.
Maravilloso!
His mane! ♥♥
That Mane man ! A True Decendant of the Atlas lion.
Poor Sinbad looks confused and disoriented. He must have lived a painful life in Romania.
It seems this animal is still not well or bit confused...
This lion is belongs to the subspecies of north african lions... Generally now it is not found anywhere in the wild.
As a wildlife film maker I have shot many short films of Asiatic Lions but this clan is so beautiful and adorable.
Que juba de respeito 😍
wow what a mane
God bless!
Beautiful animal. He look confused poor animal. Wonder in what conditions he was living before he was released.
Very good.
무서운 사자가 아니라 너무도 불쌍한 사자. 남은 인생 행복하게 살거라.
the Barbary lion is not a subspecies he is just from the northern part of Africa where it's cooler and he has a thicker coat
Big lion walked out like my cat does after he walks out the door ha ha
The work goes on. Else lives.
Poor boy doesn't know what to do now that he doesn't live in a tiny cage
the moment he looks up to the skies and cringes
He looks so shocked and confused. Like he thinks there has to be some catch he just hasn't figured out yet.
Question is, "Is that wise for his survival?"
Look at his health!!
wow what a mane!
Have seen many rescued animals that are afraid of grass or just being outside at first
poor thing didn't even know what to do...didn't know that he could go run... poor animal ...it's going to be safe now...
I hope he can eat ok with his damaged teeth and build his weight up a bit - do they ever mince up food to make it easier for them?
He needs someone of his kind to adapt well after living away all this while..
Still little bit drugged up, stumbling on it's feet!
Nope.
Best hairdew on earth
He isn't confused , so many new smells to process
Its been 10 yrs...any updates?

good job
Ths is how a complete king looks like, please poachers or American trophy hunters live our kings alone please
Could it be possible, after a detailed study off course, to reintroduce these barbary lions to their natural habitat?
Old video, any update on this guy?
Has anyone seen a really sad movie called white lion its so sad
Hayvan bayağı garipsemiş oraları birazda korkmuş{MEVLAM} hepinizden razı olsun.
Barbary Lion 👑
Wow, he looked so lost after coming out. :(
He looks terrified and shocked by his surroundings. If that makes any sense .
I think I found an update of Sinbad. He seems to be a very mellow big cat. Still alive after 10 years!! ruclips.net/video/_xOxJ6x1Vik/видео.html
I wonder how old the Lion is.
Released into a pen? Not what I was expecting but still, nice job.
