    This man defines sanity in psychiatric practice, therapy. He's not the traditional "shrink" who is trying to analyze you or conform you but rather the whole man (or woman) living a full life with the surroundings and support to make them be and feel whole. Dr. Peterson is a treasure, a breath of fresh air, a man to be listened to and learn from. No agendas, no trying to make you fit his little mold or answer his questionnaire with the "right" answers his "profession said so" were right. He is a voice for well being and freedom that MUST NOT BE silenced or stopped. It also says volumes about Dave for showing openly so much respect and admiration for Dr. Peterson. I believe this is essential given the heat of the battle Dr. Peterson is in for liberty and freedom of speech. Dave is affirming and supporting one of his heroes and promoting him in the most powerful and meaningful ways one person can support and uphold another. Two great men going about and doing good which is the testimony of Jesus!

    1:09 Dave talks about reading all the time and I felt like I wasn’t reading enough. Last year I read 3.5 books. I started “A Column of Fire” in September and it’s a thick book. This year, I finished the other 0.5 from ‘22 and then read “The Rum Diary”; I’m currently reading “Financial Peace”. Maybe you’ve heard of it?

      Read ‘The Daily Stoic’. It’s a daily devotional, but using quotes from philosophers and Greeks. One of the entries talks about the quality of the books, not the quantity. Really hit home to me as I consider myself a slow reader.

      He was a professor for many years. You can find a whole bunch of his old university lectures here on youtube. They are really interesting. He stopped teaching as he started getting famous because, due to the political controversies around him, his grad students were getting treated poorly by universities because they had studied under him. It's a hard choice when even your best students are being rejected from academic positions because of their association with you.

      I would not be surprised if he has read the book multiple times. If you value a form of content, experiencing it a second time can shed a new perspective from the first time.

    • @naomiomi7340

      That not the best assumption. He could have read the whole book and then gone back to mark the part he wanted to reference. Or maybe his paper fell out of the book and he just shoved it back in any place.

      @@matthewwilson5194 Quite the contrary. Most people don't meet minimum standards of an effective epistemology, ergo they believe lies, supported by others, and that's a battle i don't care to undertake. I'm fine. They're not.

    • @han1218
      @han1218 Год назад

      I believe in the blind spots. I struggled to make friends when I was in middle school and it later carried on to high school, mainly because I had developed some personality traits as a reaction to not having friends earlier and was undesirable to be around in some ways. Later as I went into the workforce (and college) and became more service oriented , I ended up becoming friends with people, because I shifted from an inward to an outward focus. What can I do to “be a friend” to someone else, accepting the risk they won’t be friendly back.
