Disney has the money to buy the rights for Spider-Man for 10M dollars and SONY is refusing it bcz they think it’s too cheap.
Warren I think as fans of Marvel since forever, we all owe Marvel Studios now. I don't if I get to say this and I don't know how feasible it is but I'm gonna say it. Social Media has an impact for sure. I think it'd be really great if you, along with many other Marvel content creators on youtube can push forward a big fandom to petition about this. Seriously, you have a fandom of your own, there are many of your co-youtubers with their own huge fanbases, I think it's about time you show your power. Warren why are you acting like Marvel hasn’t sucked and that they haven’t made a good Spiderman movie. They made Spiderman Iron Man flunky he’s never did anything on his own hell he’s never had his own villain
Stuff like this is the reason why Andrew Garfield didn't want to work with Sony, the real reason why The Amazing Spider-Man 2 flopped was because of the rushed storyline with the Sinister Six and they never learned since.
Which is why they made multiple films of Sony verse ( Morbius , Madame Web, Venom, and Kraven).
Venom is only great one. I have low expectations for Kraven.

Yeah I keep imagining Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a completely different movie. No electro, no Harry subplot. I had thenidea for the movie to be like a Spidey vs Prowler film (Jaime Fox would play the OG Prowler instead of Electro). Where Prowler would be like a dark-Spiderman and would foreshadow Spider-man’s dark descent after a ‘future’ Gwen Stacey death in the potential third film. Since the original Prowler was basically a down on his luck version of Peter Parker. And that could have set up ASM3 to be an0ther Goblin vs Symbiote Film that would have had better weight than the OG Spider-Man 3 (sans Sandman).

Dakota calling Elizabeth Olsen asking her what's it like working on a Marvel film. Both Dakota and Sydney posting on Insta and X tagging Marvel Studios. Dakota mysteriously dropping her agency after the trailer dropped.
Even from Morbius, Matt Smith called Karen Gillan asking her about how it would be working for Marvel. Yes the actors should have done their due diligence, but that's what their agencies are for. It wouldn't surprise me if Sony Pictures just constantly skates around the question of the film connecting to the MCU. Tom Holland as Spiderman and technically Ned are the only real Sony characters tied to the MCU.

Sony’s been a problem since the Sam Raimi Spider-Man days. Spider-Man 3’s rushed writing and insufficient decisions was the first indicator that Sony would’ve taken advantage of the Spider-Man character and use him in the wrong manner. It’s safe to say Sony’s track record with the utilization of the Spider-Man character along with his related characters has been a disservice besides the obvious select few successes. Marvel Studios was the saving grace for Spider-Man in 2014 and it’s really chilling to think that if not for Kevin Feige’s negotiation, Spider-Man’s cinematic reputation would’ve been in the dumpster.

Tom Rothman (CEO of Sony Pictures) is the main problem. He is not only trying to change Spider-Man 4 into another multiverse movie, but he is also trying to force Feige to release it in 2025. He also historically hates superhero movies.
He brought his ego from his work in Fox to Sony I see. He's also the reason why it took forever to get Deadpool movie

@@tonymata8070The easier way to do it is if Sony gets bought by other company, not necessarily Disney. Apparently the rights contract could revert back because Columbia would not be the same company that bought the movie rights initially.
I always felt that Marvel had a case for getting the rights back by arguing that Sony was damaging their intellectual property by making such bad films, since Marvel still owns the character. But, the financial success of Venom and the critical success of Into and Across the Spider-verse pretty much k/ller that argument.
The reason why Disney didn’t get to just purchase the movie rights to Spider-Man from Sony as part of the complete acquisition of Marvel is because Disney’s CEO Bob Iger acknowledged that “Disney will continue to honor any contracts that Marvel currently has, even if it’s with its competitors.” Another company that still has the rights to Marvel characters is Universal Orlando. Universal in Florida didn’t have just Spider-Man, they got all of Marvel & they only own theme park rights to 4 franchises, The Avengers, the Fantastic Four & X-Men, of course Spider-Man, which is why the Guardians of the Galaxy got themselves a ride at Walt Disney World instead of Universal.
I think Sony needs new management within creative. They have some great things with the Venom movies, Madam Web, kravin, and morbuis. They just gotta build it properly, write it properly & invest proper time into these projects, characters & stories.

That's a very good question, especially Andrew who hated what Sony did to his version of Spider-Man & his universe. These two have the leverage over Sony since they knew the difference between working with Marvel Studios & working with Sony.

it's funny you say this. I had this conversation with some buddies at our Super Bowl party. Sony should just let Marvel take care of everything and watch the cash roll in after not having lifted a finger. It would be best for both Sony and Spiderverse characters.

Sony is crushing it like DCEU did. A few good films but mostly, it is an attempt to connect storylines and force a saga. It is a problem that even Marvel Studios is having right now? This does not mean SSU has to go the same way as DCEU and MCU cannot make the same success. They have to remember that audience care about the characters the most, not the connectivity.
I feel like a lot of superhero movies these days are experiments. They change things too much, even making last minute adjustments such as Spiderman connections in Mobius, Adrian Toomes in Mobius and Venom entering the MCU but then exiting immediately. There is an implication that the final cut of the movie is not what was pitched.
You're way too polite on this. i wouldvr been letting out waves of rage on Sony for being so incompetent and ruining great characters that deserve to share the spotlight with Spiderman in the MCU. We could've had spiderman and blade teaming up to take on morbious or Spiderman battling rhino in the brooklyn bridge, its just a giant massive headache with sonys stupidity.

I agree. I believe that despite the reception for Marvel projects recently, I have full confidence and faith that they are rectifying the situation, and that the MCU will get back on its feet. And so, the rights to Spider-Man are in MUCH better hands with Marvel than Sony. I actually loved what Madame Web was trying to do, in fact, I loved the story they were TRYING to tell. But it was executed so poorly, with unnecessary re-writes, bad editing, and the writing could have been re-enforced. Sony, for God's sake, just give the friggin rights to Marvel before you ruin Spider-Man as a brand.

I absolutely agree with your whole rant. I’m a big fan of Spider-man and I know if the rights of Spider-Man were back in Marvel/Disneys hands there would be so many amazing stories told. Sony need to let Marvel cook. It’s thier Character that Stan Lee created, they need to fight for the rights back. I just wanna see venom, Carnage and spidey in the same movie without all the legal issues with Sony

Sony should DEFINITELY stay out of the way and let Feige and the MCU handle Tom Holland's Spider-Man, while they handle their trashy Marvel spinoff movies, even the Spider-verse movies, which has no connection at all. Tom Holland's Spider-Man does need to be grounded and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man should only be in Avengers: Secret Wars, not this. And there better not be more delays with the Fantastic Four and Blade. I'm sick of delays and I'm sick of Sony keep ruining things for both Spider-verse and the rest and the actors. In my opinion, Marvel has to get all the rights back of Spider-Man and the rest so the MCU could do it a LOT better. So yeah, stay out of the way Sony, and let the MCU and Feige handle Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Anyone interested in my plot theory?

I hear what you’re saying but ATSV just came out some months before madame webb, so it doesnt make sense that they just made the movie for the timeline thing because if that were the case they couldve worked better on it or just in general held it off till their timeline was nearing and that would advantage them more

Sony has killed Venom and made him a LLAME anti hero and have made 3 horrible spin off movies with Madame Web and Morbius, Disney has spent too much time Not utilizing the character more BUT Sony has ZERO idea how to build a Story. with all these Side movies The Fans have Zero clue if theyre connected, in different universe or completely seperate b/c Sony doesnt tal to their audience.
