I love my Eton grundig satellit (basically same radio as the executive). Had it for about 4 years . Cannot complain at all !

Granddaughter at the end is adorable. Thanks for the video. I'll be cruising later this year and the cruise line won't allow any of my ham radios! Not even my Yaesu FT-5D, which would be ideal for listening as we hug the shore of the Mediterranean. What killjoys! So I'm going to need the Eton Elite Executive to come with me ....... and a decent wire external antenna.

That's my daughter lol. I'm an old dad. I think I'd sneak a radio but perhaps not after you've enquired... . Have fun on that cruise.

Yes it is that good. I'm sure you just had bad luck.

Is this radio really all that good? I had bought one about a year ago. I found the user interface very confusing, then it failed within two days so I returned it for a refund. Subsequently I purchased a Tecsun PL-330 and have been pretty happy with it.

It's good yes, i agree interface a bit hard at first. But its like any brand, you become familiar along the way by regular use.

Great vid. Subbed. I just got my Excutive a couple of days ago. I'm looking for a basic antenna solution. (I'm a newb} Any suggestions/products that will help with reception? Where does the black wire go?

Not sure what black wire you have but if it's thin and loose with a metal springy clip on the end it's an antenna and can be clipped into the current antenna. So it makes an electrical connection to it. You only really need a piece of wire for antenna. And that can be connected via a 3.5mm connector as shown in the video. Good luck, enjoy.

Thanks for the quick reply. What gauge of wire do you recommend?

Can you explain or show a eton Field radio how the antenna should be set up for best operation the Manuel doesn't help a newbie much.

Hi Jason, sooo many options but for listening basically a length of thin insulated wire that can be packed away easily. More the better without getting too exessive . So lets say 20 ft or so of wire strung out horizontally and brought back to the radio via the connector. For receiving it doesnt matter so much but if you were transmitting you would have to worry about reflective power and SWR etc. As i said receiving just put a piece of wire out. These radios are very sensitive so you dont need much to get a strong signal showing. If you find its overloading then flip the switch from DX to Local,. enjoy.

I bought this Eton Elite Executive, from Amazon, USA, sometime in November 2021.
It has been working fine, till a few days back, when I found there was NO sound.
The dial lights up, channels and time are stored, and all keys functioning, but there is no sound.
I did a factory reset, by long pressing 1, and quick pressed the reset button, still no result.
All stored channels and time zone…are erased, still not even a scratch of sound.
Please help and guide me on trouble shooting, I hope there's nothing very serious, Thanks,

have you tried to see if sound coming out through headphones. Could be a sticky headphone socket.
