For the price and actually being able to find one in stock; this is the way to go. Metal will last longer than the wood ones for sure. A lot cheaper at Home Depot then Menards and Lowes didn't have it (in my town). Install was about 3 hours; including inlarging my opening.

Access doors from conditioned spaces to unconditioned spaces (e.g., attics and crawl spaces) shall be weatherstripped and insulated to a level equivalent to the insulation on the surrounding surfaces." R-30+ is required! Battic Door makes an R-50 Kit to insulate attic stairs that meets all Code requirements.
