I heard to bring pillow or some soft blanket to protect your chest from bumpy ride on the road while driving home from a surgery. Avoid bumpy road altogether if you can on your drive home.
Yes you definitely need a pillow. Amazon sells double mastectomy pillows that are great for car rides and just in general. It’s what I had and used for a month or so.
This is the most practical video I have been able to find. I am 4 days post-op double mastectomy. Thank you for sharing and I think you by far hit the most important things I have found to be helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing! I am preparing for a double masectomy and it's been hard to find videos about people's journeys. I'm not too far from you in Charleston! I hope you are well :)
You are very welcome!! I’m doing great thank you! Good luck with your surgery and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out. I’ve never been to Charleston but coming there in a few months! :)
Great tips thanks for sharing this video. I'm myself I love to exercise almost every day. and I’m having my double mastectomy and reconstruction in two days preparing what to wear ( pajamas) during recovery time and stock up foods planning to sleep on my recliner 😂😂 don’t know how rough it is going to be but I’m sure everyone healings in the different ways wishing you healed well 💪🏼💪🏼
Good luck to you in your recovery! Definitely take it easy but start moving around some. Your doctor should give you some exercises for after surgery. The more you can move the more it helps and not become stiff.
I’m so sorry I didn’t respond earlier. I was never really in any pain just super tight like I worked out. As long as it’s slow movements it shouldn’t be bad!

@@livinglifewithbreastcancer7895 Thanks for advice, best of wishes to you and all of us who’ve been through this journey 😇😇
Hey! Just checking on how you’re feeling!
Can you do a vid more detailed on how to get prepared and what that might look like for someone who does not have community during recovery
Yes I definitely can!
Great information! Thank you! How painful is it to wipe your front and rear after going to toilet?
