- U.S. President Trump awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to Army Master Sgt. Matthew Williams during a ceremony at the White House on Wednesday.
During a mission in Afghanistan's Shok Valley in 2008, Williams put himself in harm's way to help evacuate wounded soldiers when their team came under heavy fire.
The Congressional Medal of Honor is the highest and most prestigious personal military decoration.

The contrast between what the media says about President Trump, and the grace he shows during these occasions could not be greater.

Because the medal is awarded in the name of the united States' Congress, it is sometimes referred to, erroneously:- as in this instance;- as the "congressional" Medal of Honor. The award's actual name, however, is "Medal of Honor."
Bit sad, also, that President Trump did not step back and be the first to salute Master-Sergeant Williams:- as is the due of every Medal of Honor recipient. And thank you, Master-Sergeant Williams, for your Service. Never forgotten!

It isn't the "Congressional" medal of honor. It's the "Medal of Honor".
It is the congressional Medal of Honor. There is a difference between the presidential and the congressional Medal of Honor
@@jasonmyneni5305 There is no Presidential or Congressional Medal of Honor. There is a Presidential Medal of Freedom given to civilians. Likewise, there is a Congressional Gold Medal given to a civilian. The Medal of Honor is given in the name of Congress, which is where the idea that it's called the Congressional Medal of Honor comes from, but that's incorrect.
The Medal of Honor process starts at the lowest level with a recommendation for consideration that works it's way up through channels to the Pentagon. Alternatively, a Congressman could request on behalf of a constituent that the Pentagon look into the case.

Isn't the president supposed to salute medal of honor recipients? I believe all ranks do including generals and, the commander in chief. I've never seen one do it though.

The PREVENTS initiative was a great thing that Trump did for Vets. Also, he eliminated student debt for disabled vets. He was also the first president in history to actually show up to the veterans day parade to show his support. I'm not sure what you mean by "hasn't done a lot".
