- Review with before and after pool. I used Leslie's pool supplies black algae killer to treat a black algae problem. Cost 30$. Thanks for watching!. Please subscribe!
I had the same problem with my pool 16 x 35 20,000 gallons. I use Leslie‘s algae killer. It did absolutely nothing for my pool.
Thank you!!!! Just what I need
i have a pebble tech pol bottom and i used the black algae from another store and i was told to scrub the heads off and i put 8 oz in once a week for 2 months ( yup 8 weeks) i researched it and black algae can and will come back if you dont hit it for multiple weeks .mine is now gone .a neighbor did his and after a month it started showing out again so the multiple hits seemed to work for me its been gone for several months now. Just added info like your channel
I'm currently using this product tonight which made me come across your video. Leslie's pool place told me to shock 24 hours prior to using it and do not shock again for 5 days I am not sure why but your not supposed to shock after using it.
If you shock after using a copper based algaecide it can oxidize the copper and turn your pool green and cause metal staining
I used the same product and the pool water now smells horrible. I have drained half the water and refilled and the pool water still smells. There is no algae anymore and pool water is perfectly clear, but the smell will not go away. Did you experience this at all?

how long has it been since you used the product? Anytime you use an algaecide, you're supposed to vacuum the dead algae out after 3 to 4 days to prevents regrowth. I also chlorine shock the pool the day after using an algaecide. Then vacuum the next day. At first, the product was bubbly with a chemical smell, but it went away after a couple days. Also a bad smell may be the algae dying off for the first couple days. This puts off a very distinct smell and would prompt me to chlorine shock the pool. Good luck.
Shock with Fresh n Clear
Had the same experience - pool smells vaguely like gasoline!
@@mommyisms2112 how long the foam last
I use this last night and is to much and didn't remuve the spots 🥺
Are these pools with liners because our pool has a liner and we have a mess
It also stained your pool blue, but at least it's a pretty blue :)
It would of done better but you did the process wrong you need to shock first and then use algaecide 24 hours later
How long did this take? I tried this and in the morning it was exactly the same way as I left it. All these types of videos leave out all kinds of important information. How long, how much, scrub before, scrub after, and what to do next to make it safe to swim. If you post "helpful" videos you need to supply all the information - not just the highlights. Do better.
The best way to kill black algae is always manual scrub. Lots of elbow grease. We actually scrub it with a chlorine tab. Algae treatment is for when you just gotta have that extra help. Always follow the label instructions. It took about 72 hours for us to see the results. Just to be safe, we choose to stay out of the pool a few days anytime we do a large chemical treatment. Good luck!
cool I will try it!
The proper way to apply this product is to turn off your pool pump, broadcast into pool and let settle to the bottom for at least 12 hours without pump operation.
That's not what the Instructions say
@@amazoy1723 you're correct. My way is better.
@@erickreitz4051its better for the pump to be on so it can circulate through and get around the pool
No, that EXACTLY not what the instructions say. You method is for tri-chloride treatment.
Thanks
Very good vid and nice pool.
LoL "I'm pretty sure my chlorine is pretty low"
Buen dato saludos desde chile
Your cleaner shouldn’t of been in there while treating the pool
Bleach 1 million.
Algae doesnt have "heads" to scrub off lol. They're millions of individual cells clustered together.
It's called algae but actually its cyanobacteria
Black algae has the “heads” protruding from the pool surface as black spots. You need to scrub these off with the wire brush as part of treatment. The bigger problems is the roots (?tails) that are below the surface and need the chemical treatment. The individual organisms don’t have a head but the colony that it forms sure does. Less people we be confused if we stopped referring to this nasty bacteria as black “algae”
