- In today’s video, Jaxon and I take his new 2005 Honda TRX450R (built 478CC Big Bore) Flat Track Quad out for a rip in the trails!! This quad is an absolute rocket out there, even with the slick Hoosier Flat Track tires that aren’t even made for this kind of dirt; lose and rocky. It turns into even MORE of a rocket when we throw a set of 20X11-9 ITP wheels and Holeshot tires on the rear of this quad. In this video when we did the little overview on this quad we skipped over a few little miscellaneous things that help bring this quad together, so if anyone wants us to do a more in-depth video on this mug, comment down below!! what is the tire setup..I have 10" wide on my trx 250r and think they are to wide.
How durability is the quad that has a big bore kit.... I'm looking at a 2005 TRX that has a 520 Big bore and a stage 3 cam....
This is mine in the vid and it had a big bore kit and lasted a good season of racing which is pretty normal from what I’ve learned a trx as big as a 520 I imagine would be a stroker which u hear hood and bad about from everyone great power but not quite as reliable. I actually moved from the big bore to a standard bore piston with more compression and love the power output
Where’d you get the hood?
From Quad Tech. It is a Quad Tech TRX 450R Hi-Pro Hood in Black Carbon Fiber.
What’s done to the motor?
It’s been bored out to 478CC’s, has a big ole hot cam in it with the appropriate valve springs for the cam, the head has been ported and polished, big valves, an aftermarket carburetor that’s a little bigger than factory and that’s been jetted appropriately, air box lid delete with a nice UNI filter and a full Dasa header pipe and muffler
