I think they want to be like Instagram and TikTok where the main link at the top is the focus and idea pins are to let people know your content. So they want your account to be more like an influencer account rather than one pin getting the focus. The downside to that is, it will sent the readers searching instead of getting to specific landing pages.

Hi Inna! That happens, don't focus on the followers number too much, especially on Pinterest because it's a search engine and your pins will be shown in search results, not only to your followers. You don't want followers who don't enjoy your pins, you only need those who engage with your content so it can get shown to a bigger audience.

I’ve been on Pinterest for 3 years now last year my account went viral and grew tremendously with idea pins, this year I know have 17k followers & 1million monthly viewers- I’m finding idea pins don’t rank for me as much any more and old video pins are actually what’s creating viral reach for me. Tip for beginners don’t over do it with the idea pins or too many new pins in a day or you will get shadowbanned like I did lol

An account that is posting only idea pins or mostly them, is definitely getting less traffic because when users end up on your Pinterest profile from Idea pins, they should find your regular pins to click through to your website.

For a new Pinterest account 2-5 pins a day, for an established website up to 20 pins a day. Which communities? If you mean Group boards, they are pretty much useless. If you mean Tailwind Communities, I still recommend them for newer accounts especially because every repin or share matters on a new account before you have your own followers.

Idea pins are nothing but waste of time for me since they don't send traffic.
