I think the Klonoa 2 outfit is more suiting for Klonoa himself. But I do like the Summer outfit. XD
ruins everything with a little happy music at end :D - Игры
"No way!"
"But I don't wanna go!...I DON'T WANNA GO!!!"
And that was the moment where Klonoa's English voice actor actually made me feel for the poor guy. : (
I know the English voice actors get a lot of crap, especially Klonoa's, but honestly in this scene you can really hear the emotion in his voice. He sounds so upset, so shocked, even furious. He sounds pretty conflicted, like even though he's outraged that Hewpoe and everyone around him have been lying to him the entire time he's even MORE upset that he has to leave. Personally, I think some of the English voice actors don't get as much credit as they deserve. They might not be the best, but in times like this scene...this freaking scene...they prove how good they can actually be.
I totally agree, I actually love his english voice. I hope they do Klonoa 2 in english for the wii and wii u
The only real problem with English voice actors is the fact that they all change their voice in a way it sounds hoars and throaty - you can hear this in Hewpoe and really good in all the Dragon Ball Z voice actors. Klonoa doesn't do this sour thorat voice and that's why you can believe his emotions here at the climax.
You might have a good point there, Lucky, but I do feel Klonoa's actor could have punched his performance up just one vocal shelf higher to really land the moment of total separation. I appreciate how he's sort of in denial throughout the whole thing that his time in Phantomile has been fulfilled; you can feel his wrestling with his perceived reality being smashed all to pieces. Also, having just learned the other day that Klonoa's grandpa was killed earlier in the story (forgive me, I'm slow at some things), that makes his performance much more emotional than I would have thought otherwise. Honestly, I find it interesting, if just a bit off, and I'd want to see how they'd handle an English dub of Klonoa 2.
Klonoa: Door to Feels
TheIslandofAnimations! saddest ending of my childhood
@nintendolife25
Wow, like NiGHTS travells through dreams
Why does Klonoa sound like Luke fon Fabre? xD
The portal represents Klonoa fading into obscurity.
I never owned any of the Klonoa games and I think it's time for him to come back after a long sleep. Nintendo make this happen 12 years was long enough.
Thanos is evil sometimes isn't he?
Well, there was that “Klonoa Encore” trademark filed last September...
It represented of being gone for ever probably
NOT ANYMORE BABYYYY
As much as the Dub is awkward for Klonoa, Klonoa’s ENG VA did put a lot of emotion to this scene.
reminds me of the PMD endings. That you grow attached to your friend, but then you're forced to separate from him/her at the end.
But at least in PMD you and your partner get reunited again.
10 years Klonoa has been sleeping. Bandi Nameco needs to wake Klonoa up and give him another game.
Michael A Burns you know what would be sad, if the reason why he is sleeping is because he’s still trying to recover from this very moment
Rumor has it, there is another klonoa game in the works. Only time will tell...
Maybe Klonoa came to our world, left the impact he had to leave, and left as it's his job as the Dream Traveler.
Yes. Give him another dream, please!
He might be coming back...
God dammit Japan.
Any other game would have a long goodbye where they promise to meet again or some thing, the fact Klonoa is so desperate to stay and is dragged away against his will makes it so touching
Who else has Klonoa's VA voiced, tbh he'd actually make a decent Sonic voice
Bro sounds like silver
He's Voiced Chick Hicks in a Couple of Cars Games.
This ending really reminded me of Final Fantasy X. Like with that game, the whole character is a dream isn't really hinted until near the end.
Yeah, even some of the rail action in Lunatea's Veil brings to mind the scene where they grind the tow cables to crash Yuna's wedding. Also, the whole part about Hewpoe fabricating their history together reminds me of Namine's role in Chain of Memories.
At least Tidus made his dad proud and went with his dad ....Klonoa gets nothing here
ugh this kills me eveytime.
still makes me cry every time i see this ending
I like how Hewpoo doesn't smile in the end. Like who the hell would be happy having their closests friend be literally ripped right out of them?
For real man like this is sad
It sounds like you missed the point of the smile entirely. It tells a lot to the viewer without needing to use any words.
Huepow is not only putting on a brave front for himself, but coming to terms with what needed to be done. He knows he made a lifelong friend and that Klonoa is back where he belongs. The smile shows that he realizes everything worked out despite his own sadness, and that he knows his friend will be alright.
Both the Wii version and Phantasy Reverie completely screw this moment up. It's really unfortunate.
@@FreakinSweet1987 Phantasy Reverie had the smile
@@monolyth421 Incorrect. Phantasy Reveire is identical to the Wii version.
@@FreakinSweet1987 Actually, iirc the creator said Huepow was NOT supposed to smile at the end, even in the PS1 version; that was added to the scene later on by somebody else.
So heart wrenching to know that your best friend is being taken back to his home world, never to be seen again. Very sad. :(
Well, the guy whose best friend you pretended to be… long enough for it to become true.
Geez, that hurts.
What? This cutesy game ends like that? Fuck.
Mother 3
The King ehhh. not the same. the mother series is so filled with "starchild" themes that its a little more expected then a silly platformer
@@vanilla8956 As a fan of the Mother series, you should know to not judge a book by its cover, almost all media has hidden layers of meaning, regardless of the target audience. You can't really appreciate it all until you're older, having grown up alongside said series. Kingdom Hearts is another great example of this.
@@daseal1479 No it is not. Kingdom Hearts was the worst garbage I’ve ever played lmao
@@vanilla8956 Well, that might be the most dickish reply I've seen in awhile, congrats. A very biased, small-minded opinion. KH is based, but you seemed to judge things with a very "hipster" attitude, anyone that uses "ehhh" as a reply makes me want to vomit, lmao.
I actually prefer this ending, sorry people, I like the voices. Don't get me wrong, I love the Playstation version, and anyway, you can have them speak in phantomile, so complaining is just stupid.
I just realized that's Laura Bailey.
But perhaps, this won't end on a sad note afterall...
Why they gave him a sonic voice? 😂
The voice is not bad. Just close your eyes and think it sora from kindgom hearts.
Wii Klonoa is Sora's fursona change my mind
It's been a long time since I last saw this version of the ending, so it shocked me to see just how many corners they cut here. They didn't even bother changing the grass and sky textures to look dull and gray? Not only does this ruin the mood, it also shows that nightmare energy being released upon Phantomile, this huge event that brought the world to ruin in the original, apparently had zero impact at all besides making a handful of flowers die. Christ... I hope Phantasy Reverie gets it right this time, even if it's based on this version.
Umm….
There are slight improvements and they used the OG lines from the PS1 version (plus some re-recording). But not much changed sadly in the environment…
Hope y'all have a PS3 so you can buy the PSOne Classic version on it, because you ain't buying the original physically these days
@@KnottsBear-yTalesPreservedphantasy reverie series didnt have much of a budget so there wasnt much the devs at monkeycraft could do
Jesus Christ, rip my heart out why don't you?
Uh..I like Klonoa's voice in Japanese better, his English voice doesn't fit him at all, it's not really cute. Hehe maybe I can be the new voice of Klonoa, might start a career as an anime & video game voice actress next year hopefully, I can even do a younger boy's voice.^_^
I can't help but be reminded of music from the Miyazaki films when the singing starts. I really love emotional games like Klonoa, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian.
How did you know about the last guardian being tragic 11 years ago (I assume you mean the trailers)
Any other game would have a long goodbye where they promise to meet again or some thing, the fact Klonoa is so desperate to stay and is dragged away against his will makes it so touching
If they make another Klonoa game, where Klonoa would be older than he was in the last two games, and they release it in the US with an English cast, I think Kyle McCarley would fit the role really well considering his performance with 9S from Nier Automata.
_Good bye, Huepow. I cannot believe I had to move, but I am going to missed you. :(_
I don't care what people say, It still is a good ending. It doesn't matter what others say, I will always love Klonoa no matter what.
Having never played the Wii version (or bothered to look up playthroughs of the remake, I really should, huh?), I can't really claim to judge the quality of the English dub's actors. However, given recent influences, I can't help hearing them as Tuffy Mouse from "Tom and Jerry" and Discount Cat Noir respectively. The high squeak is fine for Hewpoe (Hupow?), but Klonoa sounds way too relaxed and distant to me for the situation at hand. He hits an emotional peak, yes, but I'd probably ask for just one higher shelf to really drive the tragedy home.
I like this ending more that the original.
In this one, it IS explained why Klonoa had to leave Wind Village.
I feel so sad T-T
Awwww.... This just makes me wanna cry....
I just love the voice actor for klonoa.
His English voice hurts, other European voices are better.
And anyway, the PS1 version looks way better.
You should check out European and Japanese voices, they're way better than this one.
Anyway, that PS1 CGI is actually way better than this cheap in-game cutscene, that's why PS1 version looks better =)
it sure was
What I learn from this is that sometimes Goodbye's lead to good hello's.😭😇🍓
Klonoa needs a new game for the Nintendo Switch
granted
@@Jack_Woods Hahahahahaha Dreams Do come true😭😇😎
I cried so hard at the end :(
Klonoa's voice is decent
I hope this will be include in a possible Klonoa 3
the ps 1 is the best
Holy crap the voices are out of place. They should have used the made up language of the original Klonoa
Ghost81 or at least fixed Klonoa's voice. seriously, who's bright idea was it to cast Eric Stid to voice A LITTLE KID!?
I mean...you could always change it back in the game options
@@midnightnhim5836 Klonoa's supposed to be older in the remake.
I can only imagine Inuyasha and Kagome when they get started yelling xD
Hewpoe. Nice name
Shut up
Honestly, I don’t get why people hate Eric Stitt’s Klonoa voice. Sure, it’s a bit weird coming out of Klonoa, but his voice acting isn’t THAT bad...
This ending is hilarious,a punch to the gut, and the girl looks like a teletubby.
I LOVE IT.
Huepow is a guy. The prince of Cress, I believe.

Klonoa's voice actor really doesn't suits him, but in this scene he really sounds good, his performance tears me up even more aaaaa
I'm pretty sure they gave Klonoa the voice he has on purpose so we wouldn't cry as much too the ending, imagine Klonoa sounding like a little boy probably like 8 or 9 years old, I'd be crying at the ending 😥
@@janethmedina7441actually, they never told the voice actor how the original sounded or the fact he was meant to be a kid
@@brandommario2 oh okay.
Aging up Klonoa takes away the emotional resonance of this scene. Being pulled out of the dream world is symbolic of the end of innocence, but by the time you're sixteen, you've seen things. You've already been hit by the hammer of harsh reality. Things still hurt, but not as much.
Just like everybody has already said, I much prefer the original. While it's a great looking game in its gameplay, I just find the ending stripped of emotion. On top of that, the Phantomilian is better but at least they gave us the option to choose that.
The endings are always so sad in Klonoa. Why?!
Well Klonoa Heroes on the GBA did end hapilly (or so I thought)
I actually don't get it,everybody is bitching about the voice acting and the voice acting isn't even that bad.
Exactly
+Maximus Z Klonoa's is, but the rest of them sound fine.
Everyone but Klonoa is fine, in my opinion.
I do not like the English dubbing of Klonoa I prefer a thousand times the Spanish 😒
(No me gusta el doblaje inglés de Klonoa prefiero mil veces el español :v)
Both english and spanish dubbs suck, this game shouldn't have had any voice acting, also they destroyed the whole original game
I like the Playstation one better, but the Wii version has very good voice acting in my opinion. ;)
OKaiZer0 I don't like Klonoa's VA in this game, it's not cute >:(
+Daisuke Akiyama Studios yeeeah this isn't how I remember klonoa at all
@@jasperakiyamastudios9918 Play in Phantomilan.
also the VA fits 2's Klonoa more, I believe
Ugh, they ruined it. The original PSX version's ending looked so much better, and the voices had so much more emotion.
Man this version really does dumb down the dialogue, huepow shouldn’t apologize it was better implied that he was going to give an explanation but didn’t have time explain
human huepow look like a teletubby, right?
This is the only good acting Eric Stitt did in the whole game
klonoa just like sonic the hedgehog.
The voice actor that is
0:20 Sailor Moon?
I don't know what happened but it looks so sad. Is Klonoa died? Or he just went to his homeworld where he is living like begging but he never met Hewpow.
Klonoa is a strange existence. He awakens when a world is in trouble, and goes back into stasis (like sleep) when the crisis is averted. He's kind-of like an antivirus for space-time. It's a bit depressing if you think about it.
No way! Uh-uh! I'm not going anywhere! And nobody's gonna make me go!
WHY!? WHY DID THEY GIVE KLONOA OF ALL CHARACTERS A RADICAL SONIC THE HEDGEHOG VOICE!?
OH CHRIST THAT KLONOA VOICE MY FIRST TIME HEARING IT
I prefer the cute jibberish. I always imagined Klonoa would have a high pitched kiddie voice.
damn i nearly cried!
the PS1 version is so much more emotional, the fact that klonoa sounds like sonic and the music being distracting ruins this for me
in the original there was silence, we heard only them wich is makes me take it more seriously (the music that plays later was a better choice)
also klonoa is way more expressive there, thats a bummer, the gameplay of this remake looks good but the most important scene is done POORLY, this doesnt feel as important with that kinda tone
wow that was alot better than i was expecting, i think i have more grips with the animation than the actualy voices
the dubs okay in my opinoin (Y)
Kingdom hearts chain of memories vibe
Lephise was SAVED by Klonoa and she does THAT to him! its like somebody living in your house saves your life then afterwards you say GTFO!!
They killed Klonoa cutenes ... blame you all
Laphise is actually the true Antagonist here...
Biggest plot twist ever 💀
1:46 - 1:50
what did klonoa just turn into stamper or some shit?
this is a prime example of how english dubs ruin the impact of the original...
xD A bit, if you try to hear it. In the beginning, when he says, "Yeah," he sounds just like Tails, though.
Klonoa and Hewpoe sound far too much like Sonic and Tails, it's kind of sad, really. Isn't Klonoa supposed to be like, a little kid? Sonic's 16. Does Hewpoe have an age? Cuz Tails is supposed to be 8 or 10.
I feel like the only reason Eric Stitt worked in this version at all is because when you look at Klonoa's design & stature in this version, he kinda looks like a teenager, whether it be his Klonoa 2 design or the design used for the Wii version. But when it comes to the Phantasy Reverie Series, Klonoa looks like a little kid, just as he did in the original, so Eric Stitt's voice would NOT have worked there. I just wish they had an English dub for the PRS though. I would've LOVED to hear Tara Strong voice Klonoa.
Ugh, the wii version cutscenes are visually such a huge downgrade from the original. If you haven't already, please go watch the original PS1 version of this cut-scene.
You know, I kinda like the English voice acting in this remake. It sounds anime-like.
This game isn't as good as the original, sure the in-game graphics are better, but in comparison to the original, it looks more dull at places (Vision 2-1 is a big offender here). The difficulty of the game has been noticeably toned down (for a game that's easy in the first place). And finally, the English voice acting is almost offensive on how bad it is (save for this scene which was okay-ish, thank god they have the gibberish voices).
I hope in the future there is a remake for the original that's more accurate, like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro. I think Klonoa will be successful, especially now where cute stuff is more favored unlike back then where it was about shooters (2009) or mascots with 'tude (1997).
Or if an HD remake sound insane, how about a prequel? It would give fans new content, and it will introduce newcomers to the series.
TL;DR: This remake is mediocre at best, now is the best time to bring him back regardless if it's an HD remake or a prequel.
Especially if they use Klonoa's original design. His more Sonic-like redesign always had this focus-grouped look to me, like they were trying too hard to make him cool.
Rodrick Young You've gotta be joking.
my god i couldnt take 10 seconds of it
seriously i stopped it at 0:09
"are you feeling any better huepow?"
where the fuck is the gibberish!? and if klonoa had a voice he would never sound like that, HES NOT FUCKIN SONIC!!!!!
i wont watch it, twin snakes was 1 thing, but i wont let one of my childhood memories AND the saddest ending ive ever seen be raped by stupid english voices, not today
The dream gibberish sounds better. Also does it ever get explained how they meet again in the GBA game? Also this game has a prequel that the rest of the world never got
The GBA games are spin-offs that take place in a different continuity; it doesn't really count.
Also I don't mind Eric Stit as klonoa
This really sucks compared to the original psx version..... what a shame
WHAT THE FUCK, NAMCO
Lephise is the main antagonist now 💀
Did anyone else notice Lephises chest got chiseled in a little heavier on her cliff portrait? Just caught that now after finishing the game several times...
So alot of people hate the klonoa voice
I get that
But honestly, I love it, call it nostalgia but I feel the actor is amazing and this scene really shows off his emotion
Plus idk as cool as making up a entire language for a game is, that never really translated well to emotion for
I love this game and it's definitely one of my favorite games of all time
I am without a doubt getting the remake when it launches, but please do what I do and look at this game and it's VAs as it's own thing, don't compare them, look at them for how good they truly are especially in emotion
That being said I am very depressed the remakes won't be English
*sigh......*
BUT I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN I SWEAR IT EVEN IF I HAVE TO BLOW UP THE MOTHER FU-
Close your eyes without laughing, not even a girn, I dare you.
Oh goddamit! xD
I didn't laugh. Dare complete

I heard that it's actually for 4KIds voice actors so a lot of characters sound familiar. Like Klonoa = Sonic Hewpoe = Tails and Balue = Knuckles
A kids game.
3:04 When you die and your soul fades to the after life (apologies for the cruel joke)
Also, Klonoa is back for Switch so they giving him his kid form. So it’ll be better to see him grown in the second game
Am I the only one who thinks Veronica Taylor's 'Ash' voice would suit Klonoa?
SOILED IT. SOILED IT. SOILED IT. SOILED IT.

Hewpoe: Goodbye, Klonoa.
Klonoa: But I don't wanna go.
Hewpoe: Goodbye!
Klonoa: I DON'T WANNA GO!
Hewpoe: I SAID GOODBYE!
Klonoa: NO!
What happened to Klonoa after that?
He went back to his home world.
He went to McDonald's
He's still sleeping... or is he?
good ending
dese voices really fuck the gaem up
The voice acting and basically everything just works against this ending when you are comparing it to the original one. The original PS1 version actually makes you feel really bad when this happens. Here it just feels like a joke, when you have seen the original one. That is a shame imo :(
KingOfBlades27 I actually like this ending better than the original. I agree, the visual is better on the PS1. However, the voices make it more tragic. The way Klonoa kept screaming for Hewpoe made me tear up.
+KingOfBlades27 In the PS1 put me sentimental, but did not feel like WII mourn : v
Google translator xD
+RainbowRose160 I agree. I don't know how the PS1's Phantomile language sounds, but the Wii's Phantomile sounds silly. This ending is much better in English.
It's not the voices really, it's the visual direction. The idea of the world being darker during the moment the two talk and when Klonoa is being swept away the field is filled with color and life despite that, is a pretty powerful moment. They basically ruined it in the remake.
@@analogbrayn You must have been fucking crazy for saying that this version with the cringy voice acting made it more tragic, unbelievable….
