So I ran the hose that connects to the side of my intake back to where you had that extra blue breather connected to that black plastic hose and I basically set the extra breather aside? Any thoughts? Should I do something different
+Adam Landry With my mini blue intake, i just set it aside, you can set it aside anywhere. As long as you don't have emissions in your state, you can cut the hose shorter so it doesn't hit against the radiator fan. Simply saying, zip tie it up anywhere you want.
Thanks for the great video man. I am trying to find boost leaks on my VW Passat B5.5 1.8T. You mentioned not to use silicone hoses. I have used some on my previous car vectra 2.0DTI and i was satisfied. Any more info on that? You have some experience, why not to use them i think they are pretty strong?
No problem, glad to help! As far as silicone goes. There are three types of silicone. The 1 ply, the 3 ply and the soft, squishy one. Silicone has gotten better over time since i posted this video. The silicone hoses that eurojet, forge, autobahn, and some ebay silicone hoses are good. Don't buy a silicone hose from an auto store or home depot because they are not auto motive grade. Not yet at least. They tend to be soft and squishy. The term Silicone is so universal and now there are different grades of it. Be out on the look for low quality ones!
Hello you said the hose that connects to the intake hose by the turbo just above the rock lol... connects to the n75.. is that right or does that connect to the evap?
awesome video man! I just finished getting my stage 2 revo tune but i never installed my boost gauge until today, find out i'm only getting 4 psi of boost. no fun being stage 2 but can't hold boost
light575575 when you hear the oil bubbling. and there is no hiss noises. or air escaping sound. I honestly have no answer. when you hear no other noises you are gooe. I normally do mine up to 20 psi that way I know for sure there are no air noises
Only the pipe AFTER the intercooler is cold. The charge pipe is HOT. I saw the intercooler pipe slowly melting the rubber off the radiator hose so I put the heatwrap around that area.
Unfortunately i sold the car to the junkyard. This is one of those things unless I'm there physically to see it, I can't really help. At most, i hope my video guides you in some way. Always take a break from your car and sleep on it, and think about the problem the next day. Maybe your diverter valve is bad and has a tear in it? Some problems are just hard to diagnose unless if you see a real mechanic or just happened to find the problem by accident. goodluck!
James Konkler as I try and understand what you say, yes you can have a boost leak at the air filter. If the air filter's cotton is worn. It can create a hole. Thus, a leak. I don't think I am wording this correctly.
brontoe This doesnt make sense to me. There is no boost in that pipe. It's pre compressor. The turbo is sucking through that pipe not boosting. If your logic was correct the air filter would be one giant boost leak all the time.
Gotta buy urself an air compressor or go to a friends house. I'll make a video on how to boost leak test ur car one of these days. Goodluck finding it.
Great video, I usually use this video and walk alongside cars to compare and see if theres any holes or if somethings not in right
i was digging for a video like this since i bought my jetta. thanks!
Please keep up the awesome vids. I'm going thru all the same crap with my 2004 Gli jetta
Good video mate, helpful with mine as I think I have a boost leak
first locations i believe are before the turbo, so psi could not be leaking
True, but it will throw you a running lean code CEL. It is still important
I guess Im kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to stream new series online ?
@Oliver Xavier Flixportal =)
@Bode Mayson thanks, I went there and it seems to work =) I appreciate it!
@Oliver Xavier glad I could help :)
Very helpful video, thanks
SO have I! so i decided to make my own. I am unsure why no one wanted to take the time to make this. Its a very important video.
i think they connect to emissions. I'll double check.

the small hose next to the rock connects to the N75. that is correct. hope that helps. lemme know if u need anything else.
awesome video man! I just finished getting my stage 2 revo tune but i never installed my boost gauge until today, find out i'm only getting 4 psi of boost. no fun being stage 2 but can't hold boost
Thank you for the comment? 4 psi is def a boost leak!
update: my boost sensor in the intercooler was ripped. all fixed!
Thumbup!
+Anthony Abad what psi you running now?
Cover ur top fmic pipe it's hitting ur hood, I covered mine so it's not metal to metal

What's a good steady vacuum reading at idle?

Hey bro I got some questions about my mk4 gti ... can I send you some videos and explain ?
Yeah sure thing you can upload some videos and I can comment on them
is a Mishimoto intercooler good?
+David Conde DiBarsetti I don't know :P But they do look good. Most of the time brand names are better than ebay intercoolers anyhow.
5:55 Can you please send a link to where i can buy this hose. Haven't been able to find it and mine has a leak
You can search for it on eBay or any VW vendor it's called the throttle body hose. Or ask your local Autozone or auto parts store what it is
@@brontoe Thank you very much :))
Hi My car is making this exact sound 2:58 , I’m loosing a lot of power cuz the turbo is cutting off. Any way to help me ?

I got a boost leak and I ended up here. So basically all of this is a boost leak.
Vids are kinda new. Lucky u. And your welcome. Still gotta few more useful vids to post.
Boost leak at the air filter you say?

😂
Are you still around to ask a question?
yes. 3 years later... lol
With this problem your rpms could be moving if you are in drive but you are in a red light
Thats the clutch sensor. ummm the one where your left foot presses on.
brontoe
The item is called the Clutch Switch, you can search for it on ecs tuning or whatever website. it will stop your over revs at a stop light.
