I had one installed in my trailer and the vibrations destroyed it. Would not cool our 5x10 unit anymore and got load. Relapsed it with a window unit last month. It was a 12BTU unit like yours here.

Thanks for watching. Good luck with your new AC.

Have you tried to put pins in one side of the wood that way you would only need one latch to hold it down and get rid of the latch that's furthest from the wall. All it would take is about 1/4 rod or cut the head off of a wood nail but drill a small hole into the wood don't drive the nail in it'll split the wood also add a little glue to the pin in the removable board)by one inch 1/2 or more in the removable board and the rest to go into the floor board then when you lay it in place it'll lock itself on one side then latch the side next to the wall. I did this to a friends trailer and it has worked out nice for him. I have a wall unit in my trailer and am still working on where I am going to put it and how. Good luck.

I had thought about hinging it toward the wall but not away from the wall. Thanks for the idea. Good luck on your build.

So the intake is trying to suck cool air right next to where hot air is being exhausted.

Yep. That is the came spacing that it has from the factory. If I had room I would separate them for more efficiency.

How do you keep bugs/etc. from being sucked into the unit via the intake hose? Good video and ideas; thanks.

The unit has its own slide out filter that can be cleaned. Thanks for watching.

How do you feel the air condition performs? Do you still think it is overkill. I am looking at the same AC but I am in Louisiana and it is very hot. Thanks, Mike

Good question Mike. The AC works well and has saved me on some very hot days. It may be overkill but I have not tried a smaller unit to compare. Good luck on your build.

Does your AC work well? I notice that the heat will go down in the hose while the heat likes to rise.

Yes, this system worked well in the cargo trailer. A good addition would be to wrap with exhaust hose with insulation.

@@FakeLegGreg hey, that is not a bad idea. I have Whynter ARC-14SH.

why you don't get a mini split like we did $300 to $350 you won't even here the compressor

I agree there are probably better AC units for this. We bought this a year ago and putting it to use.
