Probably not. Ace bandages are extra effective (and extra dangerous for binding) because the elastic in them applies extra constriction around the body. Elastic wasn't around in the Revolutionary War.

This was in an age when any communication from their "fellow citizens" took months if it ever arrived at all. They called themselves Americans, colonials, or just identified themselves from their particular colony - Virginians, New Yorkers, Pennsylvanians, etc. They might have referred to themselves as English in a cultural sense, but not as British. And no, it wasn't a civil war. The two sides were thousands of miles away with an ocean and 150 years of distinct historical and political development separating them, and after defeat the colonizing power picked up and went home, never to come back. That's a revolution.

Drunk History, I adore you! I’ve been waiting for this story for years! I’ve known about Deborah since my young, dorky, library perusing, biography reading, days as a kid. And Paget tells it sooooooo well! It twists me up inside when people say, “Why didn’t they teach this in school?!” Because, to be frank: anyone can read a book, teach themselves, and take control of their own knowledge - at any point in life. School’s not supposed to be the only place we learn, nor the last time we pick up a book. But for a lot of people, it is. And that both breaks my heart and feels incredibly annoying.
I did a living biography for her in 4th grade. I found out about her from a Carnegie library book that my third grade teacher had lent me. I now do living history as an 18 year old and she was the thing that got me into it.
Still upset about when I tried to make a school project on Deborah Sampson the teachers pulled me aside and made me choose a different topic because they didn’t think she made a big enough impact on American history

It is always about that person on your left or right, and having each other's back. If it were solely about America, the gov't would be upfront when they sent them to war, and wouldn't need to lie or use propaganda. i.e: Vietnam, Iraq and to some degree, Afghanistan.

I literally grasped at 5:31...as a 6'0 female who grew up with two older brothers on a ranch, i legit thought i was a boy until i started kindergarten. I did everything my brothers did and strived to do it better cuz i thought i had to prove myself. & im damn happy it worked that way because it made me tough and gave me confidence. The 12 years of jujitsu definitely helped me learn how to take care of myself haha anyone who has daughters, put them in MMA ASAP and if they like it, let them do it for as long as they want. You have no idea how amazing it feels to know you can protect yourself when needed and as a mother with daughters, it feels even better knowing they have the ability if the need arises, its such a massive relief. I still worry about them every second but its less severe haha let your daughters learn to defend themselves, it helps with body confidence and self esteem when you know your own power, if that makes sense... regardless, just do it and see if they like it and if they do, support them doing it 100%. why aren't all these stories told in movies, good movies with actual budgets.... Like Saving private ryan but with boobs 😂 but seriously, these stories need to be told on the big screen before theyre lost to time forever. With history being made every second the more history gets forgotten.
