Our lives are filled with priorities from family, to love, to health and finances. I was widowed 4 years ago ..my children are 31 and 29 and I'm living by myself.😊 I've got to learn to take care of me and prioritize me. Im going to my first concert Tony Tony Tony by myself! Raising 4 children for the past 15years as a single mom, I have effectively learnt to put myself last everytime. Recently, I've prioritised taking a 'good' shower everyday(no hurrying), getting a pedicure once per month and having my tea time without interruption every evening for 30 minutes (except an emergency).
It's not a lot right now but I'm a work in progress .

Every other weekend I do a "Self-care Saturday"! I allow my husband to take care of things at home, and I go to the gym, have breakfast at Panera, go get my hair and nails done and take myself out to lunch. Sometimes I will go get a facial to. I love my Self-Care Saturday!
As a special ed teacher working in a trauma-sensitive environment, I do NOT bring my laptop home. I've enforced this boundary for one year now, and experienced a huge benefits in terms of my mental health. (Yes, I stay late or come in early some days to keep up but I'd rather this than to come home and my mind still be on work 😐)... As a married woman, I had to put a boundary in place with my husband, that I need the first 30 mins of me being home to be ME time - to give myself a chance to decompress in wtv way I choose (candle light shower and meditation music, take a nap, sit and pray, stretch or deep breathe)... After 30 mins, I am available to cook and hear about his day 😉😛😇

I love that you do work where you have to pour so much of yourself but also realize the importance of disconnecting and refueling yourself in order to keep functioning at your highest level. Some ways I put me first is by nuturing my friendships, getting my mani /pedi/facials. Going for massages once in awhile. Reading self improvement books, cleaning out my space and making it look nice, or sometimes just taking time off from everything to completely rest and recharge in the comfort of my home, oh and once in awhile I'll buy myself flowers 😊❤
This is so me. Manicure, pedicure, hairdo every 5th week and flowers every week. Certainly feel like a better version of me.
Enjoy keeping my space tidy at all times.
This in turn gives me the drive to be present for others at their point of need and above all being less judgmental and confrontational.
Prioritizing myself (recent development) offers lots of positive energy.
I’m a single mom to an 8 yr old boy and I struggle with constant mom guilt. I wfm but use my lunch hours to pick my son up from school and then have to rush back to finish my last two hours. Not having a break during the day has taken a toll on me. So the way I’ve prioritized myself is to send (pay for) my son to after school care 2-3 times a week so that I can have a lunch break, have lunch with friends or go to the gym. Some days he wines about going but I decided to breath through the mom guilt and I put myself first.
I have ZERO mom guilt.
I do everything I love... Have always approached motherhood that way.❤
By spending time in yourself, you tell yourself you’re important. And then you move through the world like you’re important.

I commend you for posting this video. Having dysfunctional parents meant my self-worth was destroyed in childhood so I became a people-pleaser, always seeking to make the lives of others easier/happier at the expense of my own then wondering why I felt so resentful. The betrayal of being abandoned by my ex after my father died cured me of all that: now I am putting myself first (scary!). Ladies - don't leave it as long as I did. Make a life for yourself and with YOU as the focus and let a man become an addition to it, not the centre OF it.

This is how I take care of myself:
Deciding not to do too many activities keeps me from getting stressed. Every so often I write down a typical daily and weekly schedule so I can see that I don't have time to learn Japanse and join a knitting club.
And I don't feel bad about it.

As a registered nurse, daughter and sister, I always put others first before me. I’ve been on the putting myself first journey for the last2yrs and it’s the best decision I made for my wellbeing 🥰

I have recently learned to prioritize myself by not giving 10 access of myself to people who only have 3 responsibility. I am so much happier! I learned this concept in a book called Good Boundaries and Goodbyes by Lysa Terkeurst.
I enjoy the baseline and the indulgent side of the presented list. I know my self worth operate as a confident woman. I thoroughly enjoy my pedicures, hair salon appointments, body scrubs, and my signature scent of perfume. The indulgent side and the baseline sometimes overlaps..I enjoy brunches, girls trips, monthly massages and I give myself a facial every other month. Professional facials 3 times per year is a needed treat. I have been raised to know that you can not be good to others until you good to yourself! And this system works well for me.. it teaches others how to treat you! ❤❤❤I like this channel and enjoy the tips of how a feminine woman should portray herself and exude confidence..this is my cup of TEA!🎉🎉

The idea of being feminine is not always presented in a positive manner with practical guidance on how to achieve such goals without talking down to the viewer. You present the information very direct yet positive and achievable. The things you say are things that most know do but have not felt that they could grate themselves permission to do. I like spending time by the mirror, just I few years back I fled them. Viewing myself in my stunning antique piece and doing some work is great. Just gazing at myself is very good for my confidence.
Sometimes, reading one of my very beautiful editions of Jane Austens works with a nice treat i my favourite. Take some space off all stress. Other times it is dancing and connecting to my body.
Forcing my self to stop running around.
My big but little thing that i do for myself is getting sunlight every day. I've found that it really helps my mood. Also if you get it when you first wake up it's good for your circadian rhythm. Which i haven't noticed yet but my sleep is horrible anyway. 😂😂😂

Whenever you feel ready, try adding in 30-60 minute of physical activity 3-4 days a week. There are many reasons for having a rough time sleeping, but sometimes, exerting some extra energy can help increase the body's need for rest, making it easier to fall asleep 💕

How I put myself first is saying "No Thank You" without another word. No explanation. I have also cultivated the leisurely hustle. I break from my work every 1/2 hour to do the small mindless tasks that pile up. Its a 10 minute break. It keeps me super organized making the hard look EASY. I have also scaled down my make up to only things that look great on me (you will know this because people will tell you you look pretty. It makes getting ready super easy. I also did this with perfume. I only have 3 scents now and I LOVE every one of them. Its making the hard decisions based on the life I want to live that I have come to love.

I’m trying to get there again. I’m a pretty woman but have been dragged down with SA, jealousy at work, slander, stalkers it never stops. I needed this video.
DV survivor here and it has taken me years to get back to “me” after leaving. Therapy, maintaining my looks and pursuing the hobbies I love while nurturing my child’s hobbies have really helped us come a long way as a family. My house may be a lot smaller, but I honestly couldn’t be happier. There is nothing worth your self respect and the sanctity of home for you and your family.

Putting myself first with a newborn is prioritizing taking a shower. I know this might sound small, but with my first daughter I would wait until it was “the right time” to take care of myself and that time never came. I always feel so fresh, renewed, and like I did something for myself every day that I get my shower in and put perfume on.. even if I’m in the house!

As a single mom who works full time, I have one day a week that I dedicate to whole body care, such as exfoliating, my face mask, and maybe a bubble bath. Day to day I keep it very simple and wash my face, apply coconut oil as my body moisturizer, use simple products before going out and going to bed. I only really wear mascara most of the time.
Also, RUclips has some intense 20-30 min workouts you can do everyday without scheduling a trip to the gym.

Growing up, my mother was and is a covert narcissist. Then I moved out with someone I thought was a friend. Nope. Just another manipulative, dysfunctional, crazy narcissist. So now that she is gone, in the last nearly 8 months I have learned to care for myself and my body. I needed this. Thank you!! I’m naturally giving, so it’s hard for me to prioritize myself. But I’m learning. Especially now that I’m also living by myself.
This is why I am focus on me myself and I. I believe in self-preservation. It's nothing selfish about it. If you are not taking care of yourself first how in world can you help others? I am the top priority in 2024 so I can help my family. I have no kids not married and not dating. I am just focus on my goals and achieving my goals.

This is something I’ve struggled my whole life I am now 24 years old & I’m now learning myself little by little I’ve been documenting my process in a self care planner 🙏🏻 to really motivate myself & really focus on myself for so long I put others before me & go above & beyond for others but me I realized in the end of doing that it left me drained & unsatisfied. I now know how important self love is & I’m happy I recognized that even early on I just never understood the whole principal of self love & why it’s important but now I know & I’m happy to be in this journey 😌
