i'd make rhonin say "deathrattle: add 10 arcane missles to your hand. any that don't fit, you cast instead." so it's like a value bomb. i don't know if that's too strong, but at 7 mana it seems slow and meme enough to work.
So you’re proposing a 7 mana deal 27 damage “death rattle” creature. Eh, Thats not a fun card, mage has no issue with filling its hand with random garbage
Given the prevalence of deathrattle circumvention (kidnap, Reno, objection, etc) I think having value bomb deathrattles like that would be fine. But 10? That's pushing it for a 7 drop, maybe a 10 drop for 10 missiles or go down to 7 missiles.
My favourite hearhstone card is lorekeeper pokelt. It was the first card that gives you the ability to order your deck, and make sure you get to your few top end cards. Loved experimenting with it
Not to mention there were some funny ways to counterplay against it. Albatross was kind of a vogue card still at the time, and I remember Gnomeferatu seeing a little resurgence to burn SR Anduin off the top after Polkelt was played, followed by "You have bested me".
I think if you wanted to get dreadsteed back on your turn, you could make it have "Rush, Deathrattle: Summon this minion at the start of your next turn". I do really like the concept of having a 1/1 every turn to set up things like trades or defile chains etc.
My favorite hearthstone card is probably Venomous Scorpid. It started the whole "3 mana card with decent stats and card generation", but it reigns king by still being a threat to bigger minions. Scorpid into Ace Hunter Kreen will never not be a super fun gameplan.
My favorite card is sing-along buddy. Not for Sulfuras rag-shots. Not for Uther of the Ebon Blade's horsemen. Not for super ping reckless mage. Not even for crazy hero power druid abuse. I sing along with Dinomancy because I AM THE GREATEST DINOMANCER!!!!!!
My favourite card is Farm Hand. I love the art and the flavor of the hand in farmer's clothing, and the effect is pretty fun as well. I don't play it often and there are more fun choices, but he's just a little guy and im here for that
I'm loving this series, perhaps upping the amount of cards change for the neutrals up to like 5 or so to include more of the large amount of neutrals per expansion. Cause 3 per feels too low
I think Rhonin would be neat with: "Battlecry, Deathrattle, and Inspire: Add an 'Arcane Missiles' spell to your hand." and still be a 2 mana card. 2 mana "draw" 3 (Your version) is really good, even if the cards you "draw" aren't, since you're drawing specific cards that you're already building around.
Yeah, the idea was violet spellwing is 1 mana 1/1 Gain 1 missiles and rhonin is a legendary so pushing it to be a 2 mana to gain 3 would be pretty on point with other similar ones
Gormok the Impaler is an iconic card that's tied up to number 4 in different places. Thus changing it's cost and stats would be shitty. I think that a nice solution would be like this: «4 mana 4/4, Battlecry: if you controll at least 4 other minions - deal 4 damage and draw 4 cards». And then if it seems too good - start changing the «deal 4 damage» part, like «deal 4 damage to a random enemy» or «deal 4 damage to a random enemy minion» or if even this seems too strong - something like «deal 4 damage to your hero» or maybe even «deal 4 damage to a friendly minion» (effectively killing one of them), so main thing about Gorlok technically would become not the «deal 4 damage» thing but the card drawing mechanism.
My favourite card is Ancestor's Call. First of all, incredible art. Used to be a pure meme but eventually saw real play. One of the first big symmetrical effects.
My favorite card in Hearthstone is funnily enough one of the best non-inspire Inspire cards, Phase Stalker! Was such a fun time to use him back in the day.
King’s Elekk is one of the joust cards, so for the sake of consistency, it should be “battlecry: reveal a minion in each player’s deck. If yours costs more, don’t draw it.” 5head
I think my favorite card has got to be Frost Lich Jaina. The expansion came out around when I was getting into hearthstone and actually starting to understand card games and deck building. Pulling one of the new hero cards for my favorite class and then building an elemental mage deck is a core memory of mine
Gormok the Impaler can be - "2 mana 3/2 Battlecry: If you have at least three minions deal 3 damage to a minion and to the opponent. " So he's more of an aggro legendary, gets some play and it's flavor for his impaling abilities.
Cabal shadow priest was my favorite. before the priest rework control priest was always my favorite deck. The perfect anti meta deck, felt like you could target any deck in the meta with different approaches to deck building
My favorite card is probably Unseal the Vault because its the first legendary I unpacked and I tried desperately to make it work. It also makes your hero power better! ;)
My favorite card is probably Paparazzi from the Festival of Legend set. I was just starting hearthstone, and as a new player, being able to test the legendaries in funky decks was really enjoyable (also you could have like 3/4 patchwerks in your blood deck and it was funny)
My favourite card is Lich Knight. I started playing right after DK was released, and have been in love with the class since then. I've been trying since then to make DK class, that can actually play this guy, in any meaningful way. As for this set, man I wish HS had more abilities like Inspire. I'm gonna be honest - the only reason I even play hearthstone, is because MtG for some reason doesn't have any proper symulator, and inspire was the closest hearthstone game ever had to an activated ability, and man, it could use some of those. I just hate, how boring most of the HS minions are - like most of them are just either french or belgian vanillas, and HS keywords aside of taunt don't really do anything when on the field. This is one of the rare keywords, that actually make a minion on the board somehting more than stats.
If Shady Dealer had a good enough effect it could see play, like maybe if it had a hand buff effect for your pirates (3 mana 3/2, *Battlecry:* if you control a Pirate, give all Pirates in your hand +1(2?) attack)
Personally I'd change murloc knight to a 3 mana 2/2 inspire: summon 2 random murlocs that cost 5 or less (much wording, but you avoid getting the likes of mutanus, gigafin, the 2/3 guy that deals AoE but not to murlocs…basically the high/lowrolls and still get the swarmy feeling that murlocs should "inspire" while not being overly oppresive at 2 health) Other than that, keep up the series! Doing great work that ought to be translated into actual patch notes for the game.
My favorite card is Crystalsmith Kangor. The art itself is cool, and it's a fairly simple card that just doubles healing. It works in paladin decks that have a lot of healing and lifesteal.
favourite card is wild pyromancer, was super fun in mechathun druid in odd rogue meta back in the day, finding ways to clear the board, buff the pyro, draw a bunch of cards with acolyte of pain was fun as hell
My favorite card is Commander Rhyssa; I love playing Midrange Secret Paladin, and I wish she got changed to: Whenever you play a secret, give your minions +1 Attack. Still, she has a special place in my heart.
If they ever do another wild expansion one of my dream cards for a while has been an inspire card with the text “Also inspired by your enemy’s hero power” or something like that. Probably stick it on a gimmick card that’s more for fun than anything, but I do think something like that could be fun to toy around with.
My favourite card is def Bloodreaver Gul'dan. I miss the days of big demon renolock, where this was the game winning board refill + hero power upgrade.
My favorite card is Shudderwock, we know this, get at me lmao. However, what has kept it as my favorite card is Da Undatakah, because it just opened up so many possibilities. Chaining Deathrattles makes the infinite shudderwock turns much more entertaining (at least for me, but I also think it’s a better show for my opponent).
Great video! TGT is my favorite expansion too, even if it is horrible, lmao. Nice changes, but I think Rhonin, for that final cost, would be too easy to abuse for other decks that rely on cheap spells (think of that old solitaire mozaki or quest mage), and valiant archer too, if Quest Hunter is still a thing. Also, for Frost Giant, to not break the tradition of giants costing 1 less mana per iteration of something, could be a 8 mana that decreases with any hero power use, including opponent's and the passive ones! As you said, it is hard to balance these cards without reworking them, Rhonin could be an Inspire for all it is worth. And I want to join the giveaway, so my favorite card is Zola :))
You'd never run frost giant in questline hunter ever, and violet spellwing is 1 mana 1/1 to get 1 missiles so a legendary giving 3 for 2 is not really that crazy + mozaki sucks ass and wouldn't run missiles anyway
I wish you reworked Nexus-Champion Saraad as well because he has the coolest art in the whole set. Maybe he can be a 4 cost and the spell he gives you is 2 mana cheeper, making your hero power "free". Thats probably still awful though. Also my favorite card is Xyrella (the 4/4 one)
Frost Giant did actually see some play around Barrens era. Even Mage got the cost down fast between spirit and Reckless apprentice. Then they put wildfire to 2 and the deck never recovered.
@FlareHearthstone Oops, looked at a video from Roffle and getmeowth to check, but it doesn't count Reckless. Inspire does though (I know because I messed with Daloran Aspirant + Reckless in my LPG reno mage way back for memes). I think it was just put in because there wasn't much else that directly synergized with hero powers at the time at even cost. Frost Giant would be so nuts if it worked like that even though Even Mage is pretty much dead.
@vGhost01 You know, you might be right. There were a lot of hero power mechanics changes during that rotation, it may actually do that now. Edit: Just tested it now. Reckless Apprentice does not reduce giant at all, and Spirit of Dragonhawk only reduces it by 1. Buff Frost Giant pls
I know he's straight ass, but Gormok is still my favorite pet card in all of hearthstone. I think it's his simplicity that made me fall in live with the card. I remember trying to slot him into every zoo/aggro deck I made back in the day, with the only time I ever found success with him was during the early days of even decks(shaman&paladin), before they became hyper refined.
When you mentioned dragon bane and Trench something it would be great for those who don't know if you tosses em up on screen would be an improved viewer experience cool video tho
My favorite card is Jungle Giants. Only card I have ever crafted golden. It is such a bad quest but it appeals to the timmy in me so much that I cannot appreciate it. Plus its a big dinosaur. Whats not to love?
I see where you coming from with the buffs reducing the mana cost, but i think it makes the cards feel less powerfull and would make wild more fast when i think making cards keep high manacost but improving the abilities would be a more healthy way of making old cards playable
For all of the inspire cards they 100% need to be cheaper to see any play, namely even costed because of 1 mana HP. But for other cards yeah you could make rhonin like 6 mana give 5 missiles but I like pushing the envelope with cool but terrible old cards to see if they can maybe actually make the cut somehow
I think both Whizbangs are pretty cool ,because you get a good ,fun deck to play with, for only 1600 dust. But my favorite card of all time ,has to Rag. Not because he is that good, because he gave you lethal on a full board like 80% of the time😂
No matter how many times blizzard justifies it, I don't see any reason as to why insire can't no longer be used or any reason to not add it to cards that have the keyword but with thousands of text to not use te keyword.
for Brave Archer I would make it so that it only works if you have 3 or less cards, I think its more into the spirit of the card without being utter asssss
@@FlareIsGone The cards would have had more power creep on them, if they released later in HS lifecycle, but I'm just purely talking about the keyword, it would have been that much stronger if it was with Baku and Genn
I think Ronin is actually a very interesting case study in how shit deathrattle is compared to battlecry, if you cannot abuse death triggers. The 2 mana 2/3 version is a bit odd for my taste in terms of buffs. I was thinking 5 mana 5/5 with battlecry.
violet spellwing is 1 mana 1/1 get 1 copy of missiles, rhonin is a legendary and could pretty easily be 2 mana (I also EXTREMELY) pushed it because I wanted it to be a playable card
@@FlareIsGone The more you know, I have never seen this card before haha. Someone get the HS devs on the phone and let Flare make a 1-month long wild format.
I think inspire is funadmentally weak, since the two modes youd have to balance the card is played on curve and played 2 turns later with a hero power, and most cards were designed as if youd be playing 2-3 HP a turn. I think to bridge this gap, change Inspire itself. Either include its effect as a repeatable BC, so the effect always happens once, or it activates a copy of your hero power when played. And a 1 mana decrease across the board lol
i dont wanna be a huge hater because i dont wanna be reductive but they're cooking you alive in the chundo discord. maybe experiment with a more interesting statline than making all the minions follow the same croc line
oh no I know for a FACT I was too similar on most of these. I am not proposing these changes as a wide sweeping patch to the entire expansion, more like a "oh if we got another COT these are what i'd like to see to make the cards viable" Also idk who the fuck chundo is or w/e but if bros want to talk they can say shit to my face xd?
Its also just inspire as a keyword works best on 2 mana 3/2 / 2/3 statlines, and violet spellwing is a 1 mana 1/1 give 1 missile so I thought "ok well rhonin is a legendary it can be 2 mana give 3 who gaf"
@@FlareIsGone ignore reductive criticism. I think you should brush up on your custom card design. I also don't see replies so I probably won't see your response, anyways feel free to beef with chundo for publicity, as long as it's in jest
To be absolutely fair, croc stats are pretty much perfection for a lot of things lmao and it's the cheapest you can get a card in Wild for it to work with Inspire (given that Even >>>> Odd any time of the day) Not sure why there's so much "cooking". There's way more funny (in a bad way) content creators and minus actually minor tweaks then these changes are alright. No need for a card design degree to do the sanest, best thing (changing mana costs). People looking for uniqueness in literally everything end up following the Blizzard's Chaos Balancing with low attention span and thus you get the thing people say that they hate.
i'd make rhonin say "deathrattle: add 10 arcane missles to your hand. any that don't fit, you cast instead." so it's like a value bomb. i don't know if that's too strong, but at 7 mana it seems slow and meme enough to work.
Make it 6 so you can play Umbra on the same turn pls.
So you’re proposing a 7 mana deal 27 damage “death rattle” creature.
Eh, Thats not a fun card, mage has no issue with filling its hand with random garbage

7 mana 7/7 7 missiles seems on theme
I agree that inspire is a great key word idea, i personally had an idea for a bard class that used a lot of inspire but it went nowhere
that would be so awesome im straight up stealing this thanks brother
@@FlareIsGone please do, i came to terms with the fact that i wouldn't do anything with it so i'm glad if someone can pick that idea up

Rogue Galakrond. I love value and mana cheat.
Basically, you want Even decks to be viable 😂 I agree
Rhonin could be a 3 mana 4/3 imo
yeah I uber overbuffed rhonin I will not lie
My favourite card is the og Dr. Boom
Idk man my favourite card is The mossy horror
I think inspire is funadmentally weak, since the two modes youd have to balance the card is played on curve and played 2 turns later with a hero power, and most cards were designed as if youd be playing 2-3 HP a turn.
I think to bridge this gap, change Inspire itself. Either include its effect as a repeatable BC, so the effect always happens once, or it activates a copy of your hero power when played. And a 1 mana decrease across the board lol
Fav card is foe reaper 4000
My favorite card is Dollmaster Dorian
Can you fix my marriage next?
hell yeah top g
Triple Sevens
tinyfin murloc
favorite card is easily togwaggle, fuck tony!!!!!!!!!!
i dont wanna be a huge hater because i dont wanna be reductive but they're cooking you alive in the chundo discord. maybe experiment with a more interesting statline than making all the minions follow the same croc line
oh no I know for a FACT I was too similar on most of these.
To be absolutely fair, croc stats are pretty much perfection for a lot of things lmao and it's the cheapest you can get a card in Wild for it to work with Inspire (given that Even >>>> Odd any time of the day)
Not sure why there's so much "cooking".
