Just a short video showing how to replace a dead battery in a Ducati Motorcycle Key Fob. Battery is a CR2032 and the key fob is from my 2011 Multistrada.
Thank you for this video. I had a $75 tow scheduled and probably would have spent a few $100 trying to problem solve this with the mechanic. I couldn’t believe this was the fix for my bike getting no power to start. My neighbor had the battery too. So it was a free fix. Appreciate your video!
Thanks man, you just saved me $50. My local Ducati dealer wanted to charge me $50 friggin' bucks to do a "Feyfob Battery Service". I just bought the battery at Advance Auto Parts for $5 and swapped it out in literally 30 seconds.
Nice one, thanks for showing this. Just replaced the battery in my 2011 Multistrada as I got the 'key battery low' sign on the bike when I took her out this morning. All done, nice and easy but made easier by your vid!
To clarify the step at 1:55, I'll quote my Ducati Owner's Manual: "Insert the point of the flat screwdriver just under the printed circuit board, being very careful not to damage it. Do not apply force on the battery or battery holder." If you pry the circuit board out by applying pressure to the battery or battery holder, you may find (like I did, after watching this video), that your wireless key will still not work after putting in a new battery!
Hey Shane! I'm Martin, I used to work with you at the AV company. Remember me? You were the first link when I googled how to replace the key fob battery. I was like, don't I know that guy!? Then I saw the Elder hat, lol. Anyway, thx! Got my battery replaced in no time.
You must be pretty handy. Took my dealer 15 minutes with a super big screw driver. Crazy design. Swapped my battery but I'm still having reception problems with the key. I actually damage some of the finish and the rubber started to come off which I later glued back in with rubber glue. Frustrating...
thanks. it's time to change the battery and some idiot told me I had to take it to a Ducati dealer. I knew that could not possibly be true. And I was right.
Great detail and simple and to the point - no fluff just the important stuff - awesome - just what I needed

So much easier than any other demo yet! Much better than the dealer showed me!
Way to go Shane. You ARE the real Mr. Fixit. Reminds me of my past, but had no video ability in those old days. Again - impressive # of responses.
