In a nutshell. Polyphony have massively under utilised the content of their disposal. Tracks, cars, event types, weather, time of day… and have persistently refused to engage with the community… If GT7 is doomed, then Polyphony absolutely sent it to an early grave.
Yes and they keep doing that, and with a fact that gt7 get a major update now even 2 years after release prooves they not stopping support any time soon.
Could see having a buy this dlc type thing. There are ton of past cars and tracks that i'd like to see added. I have a huge list of classics that haven't been on any game or sim yet because we have had enough of the civic, skyline, and mustang variants. The auto makers have had a lot of interesting sports cars. I'd be willing to purchase that kind of dlc.
Could you imagine a "City Track" style DLC? I've absolutely missed having tracks like Seattle, Hong Kong, NYC, and Monaco from GT4. And yes, there's way too many cars that have been left out for the endless variants of the few cars we already have
Its just not a viable business model to keep giving out free content. I can see GT going to cross platform subscription base model. Just the like playstation membership. The more money you spend the more perks and contents you will recieve.
The service of the free updates has helped their following a great deal and probably why they only go a little treat here and there otherwise it probably be a yearly buy in dlc and they wouldn't keep the regular player traffic for these weekly events and cup races that they get by handing out little tid bits keep the regulars interested just enough. I'm sure they are making something off the E-Sports events and clubs that base themselves around this sim as well.
Fm updates is crap, even more lackluster than gt7 updates, and this week gt7 is getting a good update by looks of things. Forza also suffer from big quality issues,
