50 years ago I was in my college choir. That fantastic experience plus singing in a madrigal group helped me realize just how much effort/practice goes into singing harmony and how much joy when you perform it well. Love your reactions.
Thank you! ❤️ I sang in a choir for a short while in high-school/elementary school, which may be why I really enjoy these a cappella groups. On top of their vocal abilities I actually like their personalities as well. They seem to be simply ordinary guys who happen to be able to sing beautifully and they're not flaunting it, just enjoying the performance.
These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance is holding down the bass in the back, Tim adding some deeper bass notes & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men was one of the judges on the "Sing Off" that Home Free won & he was a big fan of these guys from the start. I'm sure he loved their version of this song.
Hearing that a member of Boyz || Men loves them is more than enough for me. I hope he heard this one, there is no way anyone can not love it, but it has to feel special when you hear it from one of the original singers. 😊
Rob has a great voice, which I didn't hear this well before. That's another thing - these guys seem to always work so well together than I am not even thinking much about telling them apart, just enjoying the whole. 😊
Great enthusiasm, enjoyed the reaction. One thing that I believe gets missed by a lot of people that when Tim is singing Adam Chance seamlessly slides in to carry the base line and is so good at it most people do not notice.
Thank you! They did a great job and I do love this song - hard to make me enjoy it unless done really well. You're right, I didn't notice what Adam Chance was doing at all, but I knew there was an underlying sound that he's bringing because this whole song sounds "full".
These guys grew up with the original and have said Boyz II Men were a big influence. And they met Shawn Stockman as he was a judge on their season of The Sing Off. I agree Adam’s percussion was so important on this one. And Rob is so versatile. He can sing many styles, and I really like when he can put a little soul in their songs. I think they recorded this cover out of love and respect, rather than trying to outdo the original. Thanks for the reaction
Thank you! I agree with you - they are all from my generation and I doubt there were many who did not love this song when it came out. Also, what better reason could you possibly have to do a cover? So yes, they sound almost exactly like the original only a cappella and I honestly loved that about this rendition. ❤️❤️❤️
Greetings from Scotland! Well, we survived the big storm, minus a small part of our roof, but nothing that can't be repaired easily, so we were much luckier than most! Okay, the song was as close to perfection as I have ever heard! VERY impressed indeed! I never listened to it before and I wish I had! Health and Happiness to you and your family , Aleks!
Wait a minute, Phil mentioned a strong wind as well. Sounds like it is more serious than I originally thought. Glad to hear you're all well. Roofs can be repaired, it's the people that matter. I am also glad that it didn't affect your spirits as you still decided to enjoy some music. Hoping the next storm skips you entirely and that you will all remain well and healthy, too! Love to Scotland! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Dennis! Yes and yes on both counts! Glad you enjoyed the reaction. Both the song and its rendition simply took me back in time. They were great! ❤️
Such a great reaction. You seem like you're having a fun time. I think you're ready to party 😆. Loved it. I think this version is very good. Of course there's always something special about originals, but this is sooo clean, great harmonies, fantastic singing. But then again, they always sound great.
Thank you so much, Torgeir! I had a blast (from the past) - this was a great choice of music for me and a great rendition! Yes, very much ready to party and listen to a lot of R&B/Soul or similar... I dislike classifications, but you know what I mean... Liking Home Free more and more. ❤️❤️❤️
When Home Free does a cover, they pay homage to the original, but always make it their own. Their covers are always upgrades❣️🎼🥰🎶❤ As far as I'm concerned all of the Home Free guys "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there--and in this one Rob showcases his gospel/R&B genius in a way that seems to surprise everyone ❣️❣️❣️ #HomeFree #GospelRobLundquist
Thank you! Rob did surprise me, but it wasn't hard as I've only heard a couple of songs so far. I'm sure there's more to see from these guys and obviously I plan to. ❤️❤️❤️
You would swear there's a keyboard in the background playing chords, but NO! This is a masterful cover and...a masterful reaction. Nice to see you sooo into this song! Rob really shines in this one. (He is classically trained and sings well in that genre: See him and Austen sing Nessun Dorma.)
Thank you so much! Yes, they are all amazing here. Even though I know there are no instruments, it just doesn't sound that way. I've added Nessun Dorma, though some other songs might take precedence. 😉
Well you certainly were vibing! I took your advice and went back to look at the original, man I had totally forgotten about both the song and the group. What a throwback, I certainly enjoyed Home Free's cover though!☕
Exactly the same how I felt! This so brought me back 30 years or so and in the best possible way. They were excellent and I loved every minute of it! Thank you my cousin based on addiction of choice! 😉☕☕☕
Hello! Nice reaction. And nice that you liked it so much 🙂 I like these guys; very real and down to earth. Have a wonderful weekend, Aleks 😊 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Yeah, I noticed that about them too. It seems that their fame has no impact whatsoever on their behavior, just ordinary guys who can sing really well. Seems we often notice the same things... Love to Norway! ❤️❤️❤️
As mentioned in the video, I did notice that Adam Chance had something to do with the "background music", but I didn't catch exactly what - it was my first listen after all. Thanks for pointing it out. 😊
Thank you, Phil and love to Scotland! A bit of wind (or a lot), knowing some of you guys if it was hurricane it couldn't do a thing... 😉 Oh, this one was so popular that you couldn't miss it and I loved it then, I love it now. Home Free did an excellent job with the cover! ❤️
Rob was perfect for the lead in this song. They don't have a lead singer - whomsoever sounds best singing it, does so. Three of them are songwriters (Tim, Chance & Austin - Austin's replacement Adam Bastien is also a song writer). When Tim is singing lead, Chance takes over the bass. Although nominally a country acapella band they sing (and write) in almost every genre. They also each have channel(s) of their own.
Having heard a few of their songs I realized that the lead is whoever it suits best. Also, I don't think it matters what genre they're known for as long as the performance is good, I'm more than happy to listen intently and enjoy it after doing the first listen reaction. I'm liking these guys quite a lot.
Love how much you are enjoying Home Free :) This is joy by proxy! I think you would enjoy watching their performances on the Sing-off and hearing Shawn Stockman's reaction to Home Free. Their first performance was 'Cruise' if you would like to go on that journey! ( ruclips.net/video/Bfzd_RKGHAQ/видео.html ) If not, their version of 'Unchained Melody' or Patsy Cline's 'Crazy' are two of my favorites
Additional joy by proxy is reading that someone enjoyed the song alongside me, so thanks for that! ❤️ Every time I hear them I like them more and more. They are so unassuming while being excellent - it's refreshing. Also, their choice of music and even their own stuff that I've heard so far is great. I'm adding all your suggestions to my list and at least some will show up on this channel.
Thank you @sanfordikeda1471 and @randyhawley7202 for letting me know this existed! Hope you enjoy the reaction to the song you recommended. ❤❤❤
Please react Sissel Kyrkjebø - Slow Down ❤❤❤Mindblowing voice!

Rob really gets soulful at the end and I love it 😊

Shawn Stockman was one of the judges when Home Free's was on the Sing-Off. This is their tip of the hat to Boyz II Men. Great reaction.
Thank you! This is a great tip of the hat, if you ask me. Their respect for the original is obvious.
Such a great reaction. You seem like you're having a fun time. I think you're ready to party 😆. Loved it.

It was Adam Rupp and Chance ( he was holding down the bass) these guys are phenomenal
As mentioned in the video, I did notice that Adam Chance had something to do with the "background music", but I didn't catch exactly what - it was my first listen after all. Thanks for pointing it out. 😊
Great reaction Aleks, lovely to see you groove with a song that you know so well.
Thank you.

actually Adam Chance is carrying the bass in this
It was clear he was adding to the "background music", but I just couldn't catch what at first listen. Thanks!
