Amazing stuff as always, super detailed too! You always teach me something new
great video, especially the part when you held the cam and pulled the plastic off lol
Thank you for this video and detailed instructions! Planning to purchase BC 264 cams for my IS300. Staying NA so far less pressure on the engine. Still want to install everything correctly though unlike other videos I've seen where people do a quick swap out and send it.
great vid! Just a note, The thing you are using to measure the bucket is a micrometer not a caliper.
Thanks man! Yes, I’m an idiot and I know that… I need to slow down 😂 I had to edit so much crap I kept saying wrong… I need more time to make these videos.
@@PureFunction bro I feel you on that one. I say some things and wonder how they even came out of my mouth. And, do we go back and vid it again?! No time haha
You are great to watch. Very detailed too. Thanks man.
Great video brother! Great attention to detail!!!
Thanks man!
Well done man... One thing I would add, the TSRM does show you the correct way to place the cams for installation. The front pin angles are positioned a certain way for a smooth installation and bolt torque pattern... I follow the TSRM everytime and I've never had an issue 👌, but again... Great Job man!
Factory cams are never an issue, but these 276 cams with the aggressive lobes are what seem to be the biggest issue.
@@PureFunction I have Crower 276° (Hot Street) Cams for over 6 years now and have removed and installed numerous times with no issues following the TSRM. You explained it perfectly! The build is looking good man. I built mine last year and it was a nerve-wrecking experience. But I enjoyed it.
You explain the procedure, and torque everything in the proper sequence in this video. Checking thickness measurements for the buckets is time consuming and tedious work.
If you make a mistake you have to buy buckets again. Measure 3xs and then again to save money.
Not every bucket will be exactly on the money but as long as within 2000th you will be fine as he says, and when I did mine I was off by 2000th and confirmed with the Crower cam specialist that it would be fine.
Be neat in your paper work like he has it. The way that the MICROMETER works, and oil can give different readings. Make sure there are no oil deposits on the MICROMETER or bucket. Brake parts cleaner helps with this.
Looking at piecing my 2jz build together. Did you get anything done to the head for the bigger cam? Or just the valve lashes
SAE=Rednick measurements
just wondering when u said 'moly lube' being applied to the cams/cam caps what sorta lube is that? i also noticed it seemed kinda dark and not the usual bright red/pink like assembly lube? is it like some cv axle boot filler grease perhaps? cos i noticed my cv axle grease tubs have moly deno something something written on em.. anyways thanks so much for videos greatly appreciated
Isn't the BC 276 an interference cam? I'm assuming you moved the crank off of TDC to avoid smashing a valve into a piston when cranking the cams over to check lash?
I am really new to the car community and i am really obsessed with cars but the problem is I don’t understand anything and can’t recognize most of the parts he’s talking about.😭
💪👍💯
Hey man, Ive been a longggg time viewer.... discovered you yrs ago while researching T56 vs V160 info for my Supra and you are without a doubt a smart knowledgeable dude fo sho BUT I just have a little bit of constructive criticism, in the most respectful NON Cliche "RUclips Dickbag" way...... Slowwwwwww TF down man lol I love your cracked out mentality, that's how I am too lol but a pause in narrative every once and awhile won't kill ya.....! Lets my brain catch up and absorb all that said info! Thats all! Appreciate ya tho! Keep up the great Supra work! Cant wait to get mine running ASAP to rip on my windy PA rds!
Bro I couldn’t agree more! My ADHD is sooo bad, and causes this “word vomit”
In trying multiple medications to get me to slow down, but haven’t had much luck.
