Since the 70s I write American on forms. I registered kids for school and so many people are mixed races and don't know how to fill out the forms. We need to stop labeling ourselves. Be proud of who you are and whatever you have gone through in life that's what makes you unique. I enjoyed your views.

You are 100% right. American is American no matter what color you are. The government separates us with it all
Your right on the boxes. The majority of people seem to think that if you are born in America you are an American. As for the "appropriation", America is full of different cultures so they are going to blend naturally depending on the location. There are uneducated people out there that don't know that EVERY culture had dreads before the comb/brush was invented and every culture braided their hair. As to MUSIC, everyone use instruments that were created by other cultures etc. Instead of people getting upset that other cultures adopt or like things from other cultures they should take it as a compliment. If white people doing Rap and Hip Hop etc is appropriation, then not white people playing Basketball, football, baseball, hockey etc would be appropriating.
I’m glad Tom is bringing this conversation where it belongs with the American public.

Technically whether your white or Hispanic/Latino you’d both have to put European American because we both originate from Europe 🤯 yet they separate us based on language and skin tone isn’t much different depending on what part they are from if they are from Mexico. Most from north Mexico is more light skin than darker skin tone.
That's so true 👍 not that long ago a Hispanic girl was protesting to remove a Colombus statue and I asked "Did anything positive happen because of Colombus?". She said "No". I said so Hispanic culture is bad? She looked confused and I said You know Latin American's are a mix of Europeans & Native Americans. Even though we all would of never existed, but I digress

Culture appropriation isn't an issue. In my mind it's APPRECIATION. We copy the things we admire, that's a compliment not an insult.

THANK YOU! For YEARS I have said we are Americans period. Never understood how those born here could be African American, or Asian American or Mexican American yet us White people are somehow just Americans. Not Greek American, European American or whatever. No, we are just Americans and it is refreshing to see someone else has this outlook. And you're right, all these forms asking what race you are. I never understood why it mattered. I am 50 and still have no clue why it is a big deal yet they insist on knowing. The real answer in all reality for "What race are you" is " I am of the Human Race, what about you"? That confuses them sometimes, try it for yourself and see. :)

Yes we're ALL Americans.. I've always said if it's about fixing the police wouldn't highlighting every incident help the cause. What I'm loving about Tom and watching all the black reactors reacting to his videos is 99.999% of ya'll agree with almost every he says. British dude here. for me the US justice system seems insane. The jail time and environment when in jail is brutal. And i am glad i live in a country where guns are pretty much none existent. i know it's in your constitution (funnily enough because of us) but guns have no place in society out of the home in peace time. Your influence in the world has taken a massive hit after Afghanistan aswell.

Class Act!!! we are different in many ways but you had me ready to reach out to you. The thoughts on prisons is on point, however drug crimes and stolen property crimes have the absolute highest recidivism rates, around 77%. Murder and many of the "violent crimes" that actually do a lot of time are honestly down around 3-5%. A lot of the other comments were right on point also. I really enjoyed your reaction and trust me I have watched most of those that react to TOM. Thank you.
Respectfully the only issue with that is that there is a need in certain circumstances to know a person's ethnic background because there are medications and medical issues that affect people differently based upon their ethnic background. But other than that ethnic background doesn't matter. The only thing that matters with your physical characteristics is so a person can identify and distinguish another person from others within a group of people.

I've always said that African American was a widely misused term. You're skin doesn't define your nationality, where you are born does. There's is a difference between black American and African American.

I’m watching your video and you said about clumping everyone in the same category. I agree my high school history teacher said he doesn’t see anyone as a color your not African American you are American your not German American your American because you was born on this soil. I agree they race part of the application is really annoying especially when you are latino. They label us as an ethnicity and then they put white and black. Yet I'm like bro idk my mom's family is brown to black Puerto Rican and my dad is white Puerto Rican. So for me the reason white ppl don't go crazy is for 3 reasons and this is my perspective and not speaking for the majority,
#1 the main reason, its not covered by media at all, it doesn't make the views of what triggers society
#2 most of the time when I do see it, we, at least me, see it happen and 90% of the time they did something that caused it to happen wether the cop was in the right or not, there's a cause and effect that happens and just say we need to do better
#3 white ppl in today's society is not aloud to get mad or do anything about what happened without society torching us "we've been dealing with this for hundreds of years" "see yall don't like it when it happens to your kind and now your racist asses wanna get involved" "yall have been privileged by the system for so long yall should shut up yalls opinions don't matter" etc (and yes the few things I said I have personally seen)
All and all we know that there's fucked up shit but most of us have accepted that 99% of news coverage on things are blown out of proportion and missing alot of information
And lastly I saw a statistic that actually interested me a couple years ago, it was saying 9 unarmed black were shot and killed by the police 1 year and said the was like millions of traffic stops on blacks that year so it was like 1 and a million chance that if you get pulled over as a black man that you would be shot and killed, and I never had thought of it that way

If someone who is white decided to cause a crime then its their fault i wont back someone who is wrong. Even if people are fighting in the streets i wont involve myself because i didnt see what happend from the begining. 2 wrongs dont make a right.
