    I love this man. I've commented on a couple of your videos before I think. I work in these panels every day. Hearing you go over some of this stuff helps to reinforce what I learn at work. We are doing a scada conversion on a waste water treatment facility. Some of our LCPs are huge, they contain 4 or 5 racks of PLCs. We run hundred of control wires to them coming from motor control centers, VFDs or to the equipment directly. I'm absorbing everything you say whether I know about it or not. I appreciate the series, keep up the good work.

      Nice. I got an engineering job designing the hardware for control panels and I’m about 2 months in and still am having a hard time understanding what all I need to do. Best of luck to you

    As an electrically helpless mechanical guy this is so very helpful. Many basic questions, such as how to run power to multiple output connections without multiple input lines, etc, are answered by these videos. Thank you!

      As a mechanical engineer, Ive designed only 2 of these panels before and they were much smaller with much less automation. Currently Im working on a much larger panel with much more automation and power requirements and this video series is invaluable to help me along. I especially like how you broke up the Power distribution into individual parts like that with separate terminal blocks for the neutral, ground and hot lines. Im copying that!

    When I need to turn off a circuit breaker in my home's service panel, instead of worrying about if I turned off the correct circuit breaker, I just turn off the main circuit breaker. It is easy and 100% safe, even though I have to reset all of the clocks in my house.

    I have a question on the wires cross section selection, what is the criterion to select it?
    Also, for the wires labels, is there a suggestion for a standard to use? Like (source device/destenation device)
    Thanks again.

We now have a build series published with 7 videos and will have aprox. 30 videos in the series building a panel from the ground up from planning, designing, building and testing. This will show you how to create the drawings and wiring diagrams for panels.

    Nice video. I must admit that your videos are very helpful to me.. However, i will like to know the panel categories and areas of utilization. Also you said something about ac and dc power cable color coding as per NEC and UL please could you also help clear that more for me. Thanks and keep up the great job

    • @damion1121
      @damion1121 3 года назад

      The NEC doesn’t really have color requirements, they’re just recommendations.

    So the Power Supply is technically a transformer since it's input from 120VAC to output 24VDC.

    • @ryanrunke7030
      @ryanrunke7030 5 лет назад +2

      Transformers do not switch AC to DC. Power supply switches AC to DC and also steps the voltage down

    • @dennisonyango2455
      @dennisonyango2455 5 лет назад +2

      Its a Rectifier and transformer in one.It converts AC TO DC and still steps it down to 24VDC

  • @MR-vc1yi

    Why to we ground the negative DC?

    • @RSPSupply
      @RSPSupply  9 месяцев назад

      Grounding the negative DC terminal is important for safety, reducing electrical noise, stabilizing voltage, and meeting regulatory requirements. It provides a safe path for excess current in case of faults, improves signal quality, ensures stable voltage levels, and ensures compliance with electrical codes.

  • @electronisse

    Isn't the main grounding bus missing a jumper to the last two terminals?

    How can you make a voltage divider for analog input. I have 24V-DC on my panel and I want to get 12V DC. I know how to do it in a bread board but how you do the same thing on an industrial panel, is there is special terminals to do that job. I would appreciate your help.

    • @RSPSupply
      @RSPSupply  6 лет назад

      You can add a voltage converter right before the 12 volt devices you want to power.
