I live just south of the damage path. About five houses up the street from me is where the damage appears to have started. From 3:30-4PM that day, as the skies darkened, it was constant rumbling of thunder. Then the rains and wind picked up about 4PM. I was on the phone (working from home) when the house started shaking like an earthquake from the wind. My laptop and attached monitor were shaking from the vibrations. The internet and then power went out. I glanced out my upstairs window to the west and saw trees bending about a third of the way over. I grabbed my phone and my cat's carrier and went downstairs to get him in the carrier to head to the basement, texting my boss in the process. By the time I got down the stairs, it was over as fast as it had started. It hit so fast that the sirens didn't go off until after the storm was over. Fortunately, no damage to my home or property. Power came back on about 5AM Thursday morning in my neighborhood. While running errands this evening, went through the intersection by the library, and the traffic lights are gone. Temporary 4-way stop signs are up. Lots of yards had cut up trees piled up. We were very lucky. It could have been a lot worse.
