I totally agree. After looking for some time, including at thrift and consignment stores, I recently found a simple belted beige trench coat that is mid-calf in length. And at a reasonable price, especially for something I can keep in my closet forever. (I found it at Simon’s, a well-known Canadian chain store.) Now I can wear any dress or skirt on those cooler days or evenings. I will still wear my regular (mid-thigh length) beige trench coat with trousers or jeans.
Fantastic hack being able to shorten the dress whilst wearing the coat and then make it longer again when you take the coat off. Should be able to do this with all midi dresses!!!!
The tweed jacket is a lovely addition to an Autumn wardrobe , for me the most versatile item. Most of the others, we've already got a version of. Thank you ☘️🍁
Love the cornflowwr blue sweater. Really good with the denim skirt. One of my favourite colours. The cream combinations look luxurious. Great video as ever
Was in M&S today - and loved the bomber jacket with shearling collar. Had it not been 25 out I think I would have bought it! Didn’t want to be carrying a heavy bag around - fortunately I’ll still be here next week when it’s cooler - hope it’s not sold out ! Love the green dress on you !
Stunning in the olive green skirt and blouse. Agree on a coat too short for the skirt! I do the same thing, tuck it up! Counting the hours until Autumn arrives🍁❤
Gemma, those green pieces are simply gorgeous! I LOVE all of the options in this video, it's great that you provide tips on shoes and bags that will coordinate well. Thanks so much and cheers from Canada!
Sorry, but I just think those long line, straight denim skirts are the most frumpy, unflattering thing I’ve seen in a long time. I haven’t seen them look good on anyone. Just because something is on trend, doesn’t mean it suits you.
Unfortunately as I’m tall I can’t find a coat long enough to cover my long skirts so they just have to hang low, not keen on it but that’s how it has to be! x
Could you hold your kitty up for us to see? It will make us happy! Cats make everything better, and right now I don’t have any (waiting until I can build a safe outdoor enclosure for them, otherwise they escape too much and get hurt). I just got a forest green long coat in a wool/poly blend from Macy’s, a color I’ve wanted for ages. Usually I only buy 100% wool, but I’ve been looking for this color for so long with no luck, that I decided to compromise on this one. I wear skirts or dresses nearly everyday, including all winter, so it’s important to me to have a good selection of long winter coats.
I already have a nice navy wool peacoat, I’m looking for one in another color, burgundy, I hope because it’s on-trend. I love this classic style for days when I want something warmer than a blazer, but too warm for a long wool coat. Mine has insulation, too, but a poly lining (LLBean, last autumn, might be a standard item). Love your channel❤
That’s why I stocked up on last autumn’s extra-long overcoats, I don’t like my dress or skirt hanging below, either. This goes against the usual advice for petites like me, but I think the reverse is actually true, they give a long, continuous line that increases, not decreases, visual height.
I love Jaeger although these days not the luxury brand it was when my mother used to save her allowance in the last mid century! I learned quickly that it was ‘yay-ger’
Astonishing - this is such a boring collection, but everything looks good on you. You created surprisingly chic outfits from this rather dowdy clothes - it's a piece of art!
I understand the need for vegan clothing and in some clothing we can get away with wearing ‘plastic’. Is cheaper, lighter to wear, if made wet you are not worried etc. But, is plastic nevertheless. You sweat more and vegan shoes are definitely the worst.
My late mother was also critical of a skirt that was longer than a coat. I always notice it when I see others making that mistake.

I absolutely hate to see this too - I just think it looks so cheap and tacky.
Totally agree it just looks off!
I agree, it looks untidy
I am exactly the same
I definitely think M&S stepped up their game this year, with collections and prices. All looks really good, thanks for sharing
Hi Gemma. You look spectacular in that ruched green dress! It reminds me of the "old Hollywood " look from the 1940s. Love it!❤
Love the green dress, green skirt and blouse. Some nice outfits here.

The blue turtleneck with denim skirt, boots and blazer is awesome! The green outfit pieces are gorgeous. Great video, as usual!
I just love Autumn/Winter clothing ❤
Green dress looks fabulous on you & absolutely right dress longer than coat is definitely a no no 😂
I may be the only person who is not bothered by a dress being longer than the coat😏❤
I don't mind it either. It was frowned upon in my younger days, but now that I'm older I feel more relaxed about such things 😊
I like the look, more edgy
Agreed,looks more modern.❤
No, I'm not bothered either 😂
Love the cornflowwr blue sweater. Really good with the denim skirt. One of my favourite colours. The cream combinations look luxurious. Great video as ever
It’s a gorgeous colour
I love that your cat puts in an appearance! I enjoyed all the ideas too. Thank you x

Some good styling tips here thank you. I adored the green midi dress on you.
Thanks so much!
Glad u are back Gemma 😊 nice camel coat & love the blazer , 2 classics that never go out of style .
lovely coat, lovely jacket, but you look so good in anything ❤
The green dress looks amazing on you and the brown leather skirt 😍
Stunning in the olive green skirt and blouse. Agree on a coat too short for the skirt! I do the same thing, tuck it up! Counting the hours until Autumn arrives🍁❤
Love the green dress and everything as always
That green dress looks fabulous on you

Loved all the outfits with the green color.
The green dress looks fab on you im going right now to get one❤😊
Loved all the clothes except the denim skirt . Thanks for the tip re dresses & skirts which are longer than the coat.
Was just contemplating going to m&s you've saved me the trouble 😊❤

I agree.
I have a Levi one, the denim is softer and more figure hugging than the M&S ones and I love to wear it.
You look great in that waistcoat. I find they do not fit me properly but I may have another look.
I hear that. I'm short and quite petite. I usually find they are cut too large and overwhelm me, but I LOVE the look.
Green dress is much nicer on than on the hanger.
Love your kitty's tail making an appearance, it had been a while since the last time 🖤
Enjoyed watching this video, I have exactly the same denim skirt as you have demonstrated and it’s lovely 🙂
Lovely outfits. ❤❤
Unfortunately as I’m tall I can’t find a coat long enough to cover my long skirts so they just have to hang low, not keen on it but that’s how it has to be! x
"Vegan" is often another way of saying "plastic" in the fashion world.
" Leather " is also another way of saying " dead animal " in the real world .

I just can’t get with a formal purse with ultra casual outfits. Is there a more casual winter purse you could find to give us an idea?

I love your videos and your style
Jaeger is a German word and is pronounced Yager
Jaeger means hunter
I love Jaeger although these days not the luxury brand it was when my mother used to save her allowance in the last mid century! I learned quickly that it was ‘yay-ger’
You have very good taste in fashion and you have a black cat like me lol
I new new subscriber for sure !
Welcome to my channel 💕
Hi Gemma, would this outfit work with black suede knee high flat boots. I can't wear a heel.
Great video. I love M&S The quality is always good, and it’s good for consistent sizing.
Yes I agree, I absolutely love their Magic jeans perfect fit 😊😊😊
Great video
Cant seem to make links work….all say item unavailable (?)
Nice clothes, but, why do you aleays pull your sleeves up - even on your coats? Just curious… 😊
A vest without anything underneath will be considered inappropriate at most work places.
They may bring back three-quarter length coats ...
Mam can u guide us night party dress home party outdoors party elegant clothes
What an excellent suggestion! It will be holiday season before we know it.

I need long coat
In my day there was no way you would have a dress or skirt coming below your coat -I still wouldn't
It’s pronounced yay ger👍
The green dress is absolutely beautiful on you, unfortunately wrong shape for me I dont like "flared" wish it was "pencil" shaped 😊
No where near as good as Next Autumn Womenswear
I think there’s something wrong with your video every item I clicked on said sorry can’t find a match. Can you fix it please. Thanks.

👏👏👏
👍👏👍👏💃👍👏💃👍👏🇹🇷
Very cheap uncomfortable shoes from M&S
The green dress was great on you, but the rest of the M&S collection was nothing special, just blah......
Ty but no thank you.
Me too hate dresses hanging down under a coat and all marks Spencer dresses, are far too long

Sorry but you just don’t push the sleeves up on a camel coat..
She can , you can’t tell someone she can’t , loose your mean attitude please .
That whole outfit of a Denim skirt and a checked jacket is totally wrong
Vegan shoes aka plastic 😅😅
