Thanks for sharing these. I was born in Hoylake in 1968, so the Hoylake 1972 footage of the prom and beach next to the outdoor pool were particularly poignant - more so because that year (or maybe 1971) I got stuck in the quicksand behind the baths and had to be rescued. My mum would maybe not enjoy this nostalgia quite so much. I still love the area despite moving away in the late 1980s.
I left England at the tail end of the 1960s but thought I might see my cousin who used to sail on the Marine Lake every weekend and I used to go down there to hopefully see him fall in. He didn't and I didn't see him on this footage.
Hi my mum is in this video between 3.26 & 3.30 shes the little ginger girl dancing around with her friends her name was Anne Harris and she had two brothers geof and chris. I dont suppose you knew them if so do you have any videos of my uncle chris who was tragicly lost about 30 years ago i know it would make my mum and grandparents really happy if there was any old videos out there.
Hi Dan, that is so lovely that you found your mum in the video. Part of why I put them on is so that people will see themselves or family members, I think it's great, especially if they don't have cine footage themselves. The clip is of my husband's cousins on his father's side (Green's, Smith's & Rawcliffe's - maybe your mum knew them) There is no more of your mum (or anyone I don't recognise) on the bits I cut out either - I am so sorry & what a shame about your uncle. Did they live in Meols? have you looked at the Meols fete & Meols park films I have put on my channel? it's a long shot but maybe they are on one of those. Where they in the Rose queen retinue at St John's?
Great to see this. Thanks for sharing.

this is amazing. I was just a thought in my father's boxers until 1967...
Thank you. These old faded images mean a lot. Happy days.
Great video - thank you. That's my walk to the station at the start. Pretty much the same as it was 50 odd years ago.
