      @ it’s funny, because I was initially going to mention that I have never worked in an office, but worked in a convenience store for a few few years as a kid. I suppose I should have considered my bias before chiming in. Haha.

      I totally agree. He's one of those actors that you want to "spend time with" any time they release something new. Just seems like a genuinely cool, laid-back person. That is all a complete assumption by an internet stranger, but that's the way he comes off to me

    This guy plays the perfect mope. Perfect in the sense that his mopy behavior is triggered by legitimate frustrations rather than being sad and self obsessed. Loudermilk was such an awesome show, as was his performance in Band of Brothers.

    I lived in Austin in from 97-2002 during the peak of Silicon Hills, the opening scene in the traffic jam was so real it haunts me to this day.

      Judge summed up US race relations in about 10 seconds in the scene where Michael Bolton is listening to gangsta rap but turns down the music and locks his door when a black man walks by.

    One of the greatest roles ever played! He nailed it! "The Office" perfect for the era....the office, the copy machine, the boss, etc.

      I get your point, but I don't think he did. He continued to be an under-the-radar creator, which meant he could have more creative control than most. Meanwhile, his movies (especially OS) will forever be adored by the very people he made them for.

      @@thefuturist8864 No, he did. After creating huge hits in TV they gave him next to no promotion for his films that became cult classics. He had creative control but no budget, no promotion. It's great they they are adored, but they could have been much bigger hits and better films even. How many hits does this guy have to make before they give him respect?

    I worked at a video store when Office Space came out on video cassette. I pushed that movie to so many customers in this little rural area. 99% of the customers loved the film and it opened their eyes to other smaller films for us to recommend.

    This guy was great in Loudermilk too. Carried the show (along with the actress who played Claire, she’s great too) and it’s a shame it never got a real ending. Maybe one day 🤞

    Sooooo glad they chose Ron for this. The majority of actors would have overplayed this character for laughs and it would have died. Love his melancholy approach.

    The 90s and early 20s were THE TIMES for comedies. Dumb and Dumber, Theres Something About Mary, Big Lebowski, Office Space, Old School, Anchorman, Cable Guy, Austin Powers, Superbad. What a time. So many laughs.

    No actor could make me happier by getting paychecks for Hallmark movies and NCIS: Norfolk than Ron Livingston. He definitely deserved a 50yr career as a character actor and comedy insert.

    Ron Livingston wasn't just good in it. He was Great! His chemistry with every character was spot on. Especially Jennifer Aniston.

    Was this the first movie to be mainly located at an office? I remembered thinking working in an office is really boring how could they make an entertaining movie about something in your leisure time trying to forget. But it ended up being an untaped subject that people could connect to. Paved the way for the wildly popular tv show The Office.

      Yeah I feel like his question could’ve been phrased a little better like what’s it like for a character actor to get bumped to being the main star of a movie but they did get into it a bit. Ron isn’t a movie star but he’s just straight up a really good actor, dude elevates anything he’s in.

      Exactly, it’s not an interview, it’s a real conversation where Neal doesn’t derail Ron’s train of thought with inane questions that deflate everything. So many interviewers just blow.
