Excuse me. The Monte Cristo Lode Mine is Not Abandoned, I own it. Had it since 2015 when I bought it from the previous owner. It is very much active and up to date. Just because you don't see me out there 24/7 doesn't mean I'm not there. Also the mine has been victim to Thieves who keep taking my signs down, stealing the metal off the buildings and digging at night to reach lower tunnels.

Hi Gary. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with the thievery at Monte Cristo. I can assure you I took nothing from that site (but I did take some samples from the other mine in the video). So can you provide a link to the best source for determining mining claim locations, because I looked on Yavapai Co. assessor map gis.yavapaiaz.gov/v4/map.aspx?search= and saved the screenshot updated as the thumbnail to this video. The map clearly shows Monte Cristo lies on BLM land with no mining claims at the old mining site. Furthermore the documentation I found about the history says all the lower levels are flooded,. I don't know how deep one can go before running into the water, but the amount of water was the reason that mining was discontinued. I know some people can make a living processing the dump piles using modern methods to extract precious metals, but again I saw no signs of recent activity. But I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and am curious what you think i should rely on the assessor map, or if there is a more accurate map somewhere. Looks like the recent wildfires destroyed what was left of the buildings except for the metal shop. How are you working the mine, and where do you take the ore to be processed? I'd like to learn more about mining, and am willing to work for free for opportunity to learn more about prospecting and small mining operations. It would be fun to be able to make some money out of a hobby, or better yet, live off grid and work underground where it's nice and cool without paying for air conditioning.

@@jsweet777 Also the accuracy of that map by the county is maybe accurate for 90 days as of their NOI "noticed of intent" plan is good for 90 days as for holding a claim before you either claim it or let it go. That gives you enough time to check everything out.

May I have permission from you to dig in dumps and look around?
