I completed 160 hours of student teaching this April. I am passionate about helping children learn how to be good communicators. This is a valuable 21st Century skill and I have a huge passion towards. Now what I wished I knew was how much time I would spend in front of a boring photo copy machine. I had no idea how many handouts students were capable in one day. My organizational skills were definitely not what they needed to be so I had to wing it or fail miserably!
No student teaching experience?! Story time please! Didn’t know that was possible
Huge shortage
True how was that possible.
@@sunshinegomez2017 it is possible that they look at the candidate's prior education and experience and come up with exceptions based on what they call equivalencies.
I feel like I spend all day telling kids to wash their hands 😂😂 like my first graders will literally sneeze wipe it on their arms, and continue doing what they’re doing
very thankful I was always one of the good students in school! you are very right when you say students don't really think about teachers having a personal life, especially when they're young. I hope the new generation growing up have a better respect for teachers than mine did!
Literally you are sooo easy to watch ! So interested in watching all of tour videos!
Im so curious but How did you get a position without any classroom experience? Especially w/o student teaching!!!
Maybe she had a good degree in Education
Thank you for making this video Miri! I’m new to the teaching scene but these were spot on! Especially the hand sanitizer!😅 I love how sincere you are with all the tips and your passion for teaching! Also I would love to hear about the “no student teaching experience”! It sounds interesting! 💕
Laina Marie Aw of course, I’m glad you liked it! And yes lol hand sanitizer is a must! I wish you the best with your career!❤️😊
Ms. Baca please please PLEASE look into Brene Brown books if you have never heard of them! Great video! ❤️
Hi. There were things I wished I knew before becoming a teacher. Thanks for your video. It's such a huge inspiration.
Thanks for watching!😊❤️
Hi it's Nevaeh. Love your videos. So happy that I had you as a teacher. You helped me through so much. I probably wouldn't have gotten through 6th grade with out you. Thank you
Nevaeh, aww thank you I miss you. I hope you are doing great and that your school year is going good. Miss you and I’m glad I was able to teach you and help you through 6th grade.❤️❤️❤️
Your name is so beautiful
You are such a good teacher.
23 years here... very true info.
Great video! Spot on especially for first year ! Goodness! I was cracking up like yup you will cry!😂
Yay...I'm first....Love you Miri 💕
People say that teaching is a noble profession. If that is true, then why are teachers paid like paupers rather than like nobility? Don't take it personally if former students ignore you. You might want to call an administrator to cover your class whenever you need an emergency bathroom break. Leaving your students unsupervised in the classroom could lead to liability issues if something were to happen. It takes you three years to get used to the teaching profession. This is year 27 for me, and I wish you all the best.
John Lopez Thanks for the advice!😊
I think the pay is bound to change. Baby boomers are the majority of Teachers in North America. If most of them retire in the next couple years and the shortages are a problem, people need to demand better pay. Personally, I feel that Americans historically value entertainment field more than academic fields. They take education for granted when it is a demanding job. I have returned to the industry after a long break when I found a district where Teachers are respected on a totally different level. It is the respect that Teachers deserve.
