tbf, Yoimiya saved this one NCP from his vision being taken away.
My current theory is: Being under the presence of a Vision raises your poly count and forces you to wear more fashionable clothes for the rest of your life.
However, this phenomenon may take a while to trigger. But same thing will happen if your vision is taken away.
Your poly count will slowly diminish and your fashionable clothes disappear.
Even if that does happen, he might turn into *epic npc man*
And his outfit would turn default instantly
Technically all characters are NPCs except Fischl
Edit: for the people who don't get it, every character becomes an NPC sometimes because they sometimes act the same as NPCs in the archon quests, story quests and some certain event quests. Take Ningguang as example, when we enter the Jade Chamber and finish talking to Ningguang, we can talk to her like an NPC, we can't have dialogues with her though

That was a big gripe of mine going through the story. There is the Vision Hunt Decree going on and all these characters are just walking around with Visions out in the open. Ayaka had her's visible. Thoma's was hanging from his side. Yae's was hanging from her ear. You'd think they would hide them.
Ayaka and Yae has a higher position, a noble lady and esteemed leader of shrine maiden.
Thoma also work in Yashiro commision, one of the big three goverment organization in inazuma.
Of course Thoma vision in the end become target but raiden did not take vision from people who work for her but Yae implied soon or later, raiden will take everyone vision, including Kujou Sara and Yae vision.
Hiding their vision is useless, people already know Ayaka, Yae and Thoma were vision users before vision hunt decree declared.

just like in any authoritarian government, the priviledged people get to keep whatever the common plebs cant, in this case, vision where ayaka is the noble class, and thoma her servants are able to keep their visions, yoimiya also works closely with the commission so she gets to keep hers, and sara works directly for the shogun. only when thoma was caught helping the resistance that his got confiscated. basically, if you're in the inner party, dont dare step outside your bound.
