Someone once said, "he brags a lot", I said, "no, he's just telling the truth"

I've posted quite a few shows that Mr. Skelton has done on facebook and it's sad how many and I suspect mostly younger people (I'm 72) reply with ugly comments. Things like.. that's funny? What a jerk. and other expletives directed towards him. Of all the actors, all the comedians, all of the clowns that ever where, the one person I would have loved to meet was Red Skelton. I respect and love everything this man has done in his life. There will never be another like him. I salute you! Rest in peace with love sir.

I had the opportunity to see both Red Skelton and Bob Hope live in concert (not together). I saw Mr.Hope in Peoria at the Heart of Illinois fair. He came out and did a 15 minute dialogue and you didn't see him the rest of the night. He was funny but I felt cheated because he wasn't there that long. I saw Red at the Fox theater in St.Louis. He put on a hilarious 2 hour show. To tell you how funny he was. My 2 friends and I stopped for pizza on the way home. Now I'm not one to turn down pizza. But i was so sore from laughing I couldn't even eat any pizza. He truly was the funniest comedian ever.

Red Skelton has always made my heart smile.
One of Red’s best was the meaning of our Pledge of Allegiance. If anyone hasn’t seen it, you should. It’s a classic.

I loved his show as a kid. As an adult, I discovered his old radio shows. I didn't think it was possible, but his radio shows are even funnier. He was a class act.

Red simply was the cleanest funniest man that ever lived how on earth can you not watch this man and not laugh now in our 21 century comedy the cussing and the stories are funny as hell but to make a person today laugh with out cussing is hard this man does it effortlessly and he laughs at him self just as much as we do R I P Red you are cracking god up for sure what a treasure

I was glad to listen to this honest man. It was interesting that he said he wanted to get off the air before the show ended. Freddie the Freeloader was one of the optimistic types of humor that Red did so well. I think it is great that he refused to do some certain jokes.

I wish this type of show was on the airways again. I'm not too unhappy about the changes on RUclips where they've reduced the hate and foulness. 😀👋

One of the greatest! But he was wrong about All in the Family. It didn't cause hatred; in fact, I think it did just the opposite, namely, poked fun at bigotry, which is what we need more of today! It was a great show!

I liked his clarity of the basic seven jokes theory. There's thousands of jokes, he said, not seven, but there's just seven situations from which these thousands of jokes are derived.

Archie bunker did not spread hate and propaganda it actually educated people against hate, racism, homophobia, etc. Red was extremely conservative.

What Red said about All In The Family was spot as to why I never cared much for the show. Someone spewing hate talk isn't funny. Repeating someone else's hate talk isn't funny. Hate talk is just not funny. Granted, there were many scenes and one-liners in the show that were very funny, but I could never warm up to the "humor" of Archie's ignorance.
