I have about 30 or more tomato plants at the moment. Some blight resistant ones in raised beds, others in greenhouse and 3 in hanging baskets. 2 other plants popped up in my little greenhouse in between the paving slabs! Tomatoes just want to grow. In the past I’ve popped a slice of my favourite tomato into compost and had so many seedlings! It’s a better idea to squeeze out the seeds and wash in a sieve then sow. That is quite incredible how you have such big healthy plants in such a small amount of soil with that much produce and no signs of stress or disease. anyone who grows tomatoes in containters knows how difficult it is and you make it look incredibly easy. well done

Pretty much exactly what I expected lol You can also get a much larger yield if you keep up with pruning those shoots at the intersections of the branches that never turn into anything. The plant can put more energy into the fruit rather than additional stems. Doesnt take much more than a pinch of the fingers if you get them early.
@@Christin5554 Ive not had that problem ever, as long as they are properly supported. They can get too much water or too little. In which case you'll notice the leaves turning over.

Try using cuttings from the fruiting plant and keep growing indoors. It will fruit faster so it will have time to ripen in the warmer months. In Canada, I will sometimes start the seeds midwinter and have tomatoes forming before summer arrives.
Beautiful! Have you ever rooted the cuttings you pruned off? They are called suckers, and they drain your plant of vitamins and minerals
You CAN however let those suckers grow just a bit and when you cut them off you can plant them on for more plants.
