      I have a 2020 civic with 160k. What does a valve adjustment entail? And was wondering if you think I’d need to get mine done as well? And lmk if you ended up finding any better videos on it since this post🙏🏼

    whats the reason for adding the permatex only at metal to metal transitions instead of adding to the whole perimeter?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  10 месяцев назад

      Permatex is typically added only at metal-to-metal transitions to ensure a tight seal without interfering with the coupling of the components. This method prevents potential leaks and maintains the joint’s integrity. However, applying the whole parameter may not have the desired effect and could even lead to issues. Our Full System Scanner tool (www.youcanic.com/scanner) can also be of use. We're here to be your reliable source for all things automotive.

    Is there a need to change the entire valve cover when there is a leak ? Or you can just replace the gasket ?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  10 месяцев назад +1

      Whether or not to replace the entire valve cover or just the gasket when a leak occurs really depends on the specific issue at hand. Sometimes, a gasket replacement may suffice, while other times a full valve cover replacement is necessary. A thorough diagnosis using tools like our YOUCANIC Full System Scanner can help clear this uncertainty.
      Our platform offers extensive resources to help guide car owners through these sorts of predicaments. If you need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask on our platform. We are here to support you, learn more at www.youcanic.com and www.youcanic.com/scanner.

    • @matthewlang777
      @matthewlang777 Год назад +2

      I have a 2016 civic, the starter went out and so far I'm finding that possibly this gasket is leaking out the back(as mentioned in the start), I'm changing the starter soon I'm going to look for evidence of oil leaking on it. I also just changed the oil and it was about a quarter low. I thought maybe it was burning it but this makes me think these problems are linked.

      @matthewlang777 Год назад +3

      @SentinelEx didn't look for the leak but there was definitely a little oil on the starter, now I gotta replace throttle body and clean injectors so I might see if there's anything in the back of the engine
