I got one the other day and I love mine I am a beginner and I’ve already been able to do some cool things with the motion controller it’s really easy to fly
It’s a hit. I love mine. I feel like a pro flyer only a handful of flights in. Never flown any drone, FPV anything - just an RC car as a young kid. It’s pretty great at what it does. Worth every penny for the 3 battery fly more kit.
I had it for 4 days now. Don t buy it with single battery, it s reccomended you bring it home at 30% to keep the battery life intact and that s just ruthless unless there s more batterys
Was literally watching your videos on FPV yesterday and started training in the simulator. It’s hard AF. When you mentioned putting 35 hours into the simulator I felt so so so much better about it because I’m gonna probably need at least double that 😅
@@PeterLindgren1 true but I tried manual mode on the Avata 2 for the first time the other day and struggled so hard. That’s what prompted the simulator 😂 unless I’m missing something, manual mode is just as hard on the avata for me
@@ChristopherOddKeep going with the simulator. It took me more than a couple of hours before I even started to understand very basic flight maneuvers and even then, I was still horrible at it. My muscle memory from flying GPS camera drones worked against me as I kept reverting to control inputs that don’t work the same on an acro mode FPV drone as they do on a regular DJI camera drone. It started to click once I realized that you push the left and right sticks in the same direction to do turns. That felt very unnatural at first. I’ve got about 40 hours into different sims now (mostly LiftOff), and I’m still not amazing, but I’m able to complete some of the easier races in LiftOff and DRL. I haven’t tried full manual with the Avata yet, but plan to this week. Still a little apprehensive about it, but I’m reasonably confident that I’ll be able to do at least basic flight without crashing immediately. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 Lol
Thank you for showing it flying in manual mode inside the house and how stable it is in manual mode, I have been looking for a demonstration like this since they launched this drone. Flying in manual mode inside the house is unthinkable with version 1, at least for me.
You can do either one. If you buy the controller first for simulator use you'll need to use Assistant 2 to activate it. Or if you already have the whole package you can follow activation with the goggles.
Hey You didn't mention that the drone's performance is throttled and limited in Europe. In germany the max speed is 60 Kph for the avata 2 Because of certification of C1. I used the hack today and i could use the 100% Performance. did you also used it?
I was starting to get pretty good on a Tinyhawk 3 Freestyle. But one of the batteries popped out in a crash and the other stayed plugged in and fried everything with a short circuit. It would have been $90 to replace the board but they are constantly out of stock so I'm out $350 and sitting on a dead drone. Really looking forward to DJI care, $50 if you recover the drone or $250 if you don't.
Durability is significantly poorer compared to the original Avata. Good luck replacing the propeller guard; it's nearly impossible. If something breaks, you have no choice but to send it back to DJI, unlike the first version. I truly don't understand DJI's decision on this matter.
I own both drones. I had a small crash with the Avata 2 and broke the front propeller guard and the motor arm. The inside of the guard is now empty, making it more fragile. Unfortunately, it's not something you can change yourself. If you don’t have DJI Care, you're better off buying another one. The difference between you and me is that I'm not paid by DJI. ☺️ 2 years I own an avata 1 , I had hundreds of crash, the only thing I changed twice was the camera and the body that hold the battery because the connector that hold the battery broke
I crashed the previous version multiple times too, it broke quicker than this one. Just my experience though! Doesn’t matter if I’m paid by the brand or not, I always share my honest experience. The biggest difference between you and me, seems to be that I test the drones more extensively 🤷🏻
How do you control your target when you are using headset look around? I forget what the function is called but when you look down the camera looks down etc
I just bought avata 2 and planning to do a job for indoor house tour. I found its so hard to fly with low light and also the normal mode with fpv rc 3 is way to fast Please make an update for avata 2 for gain and expo for normal or enable beginenr mode for smoother and slower indoor drone control
@PeterLindgren1 The Avata 2 looks to be amazing!!! Even for intermediates, the FPV line of drones bring a lot more action to a creator's arsenal. I'm planning on getting mine soon, one of these would have served me handy like a couple of years ago. But, like most DJI products, for me it just gives me more ideas for shots, and even some themes and stories to tell. Thanks for the review, Sir!!!
Charging as we speak, at morning light its a go! But il get the hand controller as soon as i can, dont like the stick .. maybe. Got to fly withe it first i guess.
@@PeterLindgren1 I mean you fly by yourself and you're alone with your camera :') unless your observer is observing from hiding in a bush or under an invisibility cloak I'd say it's pretty exposed xd What is the risk of getting caught for this? I'm only asking because I want to get into fpv :D love the content btw
Dont forget that speed and throttle of your avata 2 is limited in eu by 1/3. This can be easily unlocked to give your drone proper throttle in manual mode 😉
Definitely, avata 2 is so underpowered out of the box in europe..due to limited throttle… the eu rules caused limitation of the drone speed from 27m/s to 19m/s and this was applied by DJI by limiting throttle :( hopefully they will unlock throttle in future updates and limit the speed only, for now you have to use hacks to unlock avata2 full potential in europe.
@player_e7 I heard the hacks don't even work and that it limits itself based on GPS location. I really wanted to get one because im in the US. But I always take my drone to europe as well. This is a deal breaker for me.
