    I’m sure you’re super busy but you should totally start some cake courses like these other cake RUclipsrs. I’d happily pay to take one of your courses. I’ve learned so much from you and you’re so thorough ❤

      I'm gathering info to put something together! I am almost finished my busy cake season and can start working on it soon.
      If you don't mind me asking, if you were to take a course, what would you want to learn?

    I was just working on a cake that I thought I could use this technique. I wrote the name of the Bday girl by using this technique of pattern transfer and it worked like a charm! I pressed a bit hard so I will know better for next time but it came out really lovely and super easy. Thank you so much Karolyn! I'd hate to think where I'd be without you😂

    Ever try tilting the cake back slightly so you can pipe onto the side more from above? Since it's solid and attached pretty well to the board, it seems like it would work.

      I will dip a spatula in very hot water and smooth out the seams!

    Do you use royal icing for the piping?

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  Год назад

      I just use American Buttercream. You can use royal icing. Just be aware that it can dry really fast and crack!

  • @mariawarne3217

    Does this work with any image? Like a cartoon character?

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  Год назад +1

      You can trace the outline of anything you'd like! If you want to do a character, you would most likely have to trace the lines and then fill it in with buttercream. I find that easier to do as a frozen buttercream transfer though. You can look that up, I don't have videos on that.

  • @AB-dn8xn
    @AB-dn8xn 10 месяцев назад

    ow do you stop the paper from sticking to the buttercream and ruining it? I tried this technique and I even froze the cake for an hour and the paper still stuck to it and ruined it.

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  10 месяцев назад

      Are you using a crusting buttercream like American Buttercream? The icing must crust. If you're using a meringue buttercream, it doesn't crust, so this technique won't work.
