    The seats are patterned to match Maple Leaf Gardens as they had the same design. Gold, Reds, Green and Blue. They changed it a bit at Scotiabank and added Platinum and changed the blue to purple. I have never been a fan of Scotiabank and especially even more since they changed names and they removed the murals with both the raptors and leafs logos on the walls on both ends of the rink. Everything is just gray with the Scotiabank Arena logo which changes colours.

      Zach Matias ah! Didn’t know about the pattern. That’s changes it a tad bit I’m still not overly impressed with the place in general

    My wife, and I went to a few games back when it was the ACC...Nice building, but nothing special IMHO...Was surprised that it only seats 18,800 for hockey, and the price of beer was insane.
    Toronto is a great place to visit, and the folks there are exceptionally friendly...A must place to visit if you're a fan of the game.

      Agreed Toronto is good to visit, but I thought it was underwhelming. For a team like the Leafs and "Canada's Team" you'd think it would be more comparable to the Bell Centre.

    I think it’s awesome. I never got to go live game as it’s expensive like you say but I used to visit the GTA. W/ family since it opened.

    scotia bank arena doesn’t have a 3rd seating level? thought it would have one since the dome has one

    I’m fairly certain that the player banners were moved to where the players are from. I’ve played at a few rinks where I’ve seen those banners.

      I'm pretty sure the original banners from the ACC were moved to rinks in which the players were from, replaced with new banners in the 2016-17 season

    the ACC is a morgue, good seats in the lower bowl can run you $200 each on a mid week game, and on a saturday night can be close to $400, which means those seats are bought by companies in the city so they can take clients to games

      yup. IMO, what you think would be a "Shrine to Hockey" is instead an underwhelming arena.

    The arena is fine, nothing wrong with it. It's just that the fans that goes to leaf games are corporate robots just taking away from the atmosphere. Compare it to a raptors crowd where the fans are screaming and dancing throughout the joint

    • @_TheRinks
      @_TheRinks  4 года назад +1

      Agreed. There’s nothing “wrong” with the rink overall. But my main point is that with a club as prestigious as the Leafs, I expect more. Like the Bell Centre is to the Canadiens.
      Never been to a raptors game. Maybe one day!

    I think it's to small for a team like the Leafs but I don't see location wise where they could build one through Scotiabank Arena is perfect for the Raptors

    It's a much better NBA building than it is a hockey building!! The Leafs lost something when they departed Maple Leaf Gardens.

    I mean, I like the Scotiabank Arena, but the seats could've changed. I mean, the Gold, Red and Blue. I mean they could've changed the seating on the lower bowl to a Canada like seating (for example: Red and White). I mean, it's a good place! I've been there 4 times, and I've done that!

    • @_TheRinks

      So after posting this video a viewer shone some light on this subject. It's to replicate the seating colour scheme that was in the old Maple Leaf Gardens. Not sure why I didn't know that, but now I know!

    Now those numbers are not honoured . They are all retired now . Plus they added Dave Keon #14 up the rafters

    The arena has only 10 years left according to NBA/NHL standards. LA, Denver, Montreal, Nashville, Boston, Vancouver will share the same problem as Toronto.

    • @_TheRinks
      @_TheRinks  5 лет назад +2

      Ivanna Handjahb like literal standards? Most of those rinks for sure will be in need of some renovations in the next decade for sure.

      Here in Milwaukee the 'Bradley Center' was paid for by Jane, and Lloyd Pettit who back in the early 90s were looking to purchase an NHL expansion franchise...Building was complete in the fall of '88 (I went to the opening game - Oilers without Gretzky versus the Blackhawks).
      Long story short - the Pettits didn't want to pay the expansion fee ($50 million plus there was the threat from 'Dollar' Bill Wirtz of wanting millions due to close proximity to Chicago) so they never got a team here...The Milwaukee Bucks became the primary tennant, and last season was the 1st year of the new Fiserv Forum (the Bradley Center was deemed outdated - only 30 years old)...The new Bucks owners wanted their own special place - with of course the help of us taxpayer$$$...

    Scotiabank arena is the most boring arena compared to other rinks in the NHL and also the in-game presentation is not good at all, and they have cranked up the sound of the music they play between plays and it's too loud just in order to get the atmosphere better and they don't use the organ too much either compared to other rinks and the product on the ice is not very good either and better staying at home and save the money
