I Survived 100 Days in a World That Slowly Expands, in other words, I Survived 100 Days in a 1x1 BORDER in Hardcore Minecraft! Each day the border expands by ONE BLOCK until I am left with a 100x100 area! This Minecraft challenge was insane!

This vid is a bit of a new style for me / outside my comfort zone, so I hope you all like it! My editor and I worked extremely hard on it which is why it was slightly delayed, but I think it should be worth the wait! 😄

You don’t have to wait for leaves to despawn. Breaking them or waiting for them to decay give you the same chances of getting a sapling. Using the farming tool is the only way to increase your odds
Also idk about java, as I dont play it, but you are guaranteed 2 saplings per tree, 8 for dark oak and 5 for the 2x2 trees. Again, might just be bedrock
When leaves despawn it is another way of saying the leaves decayed

You should start a new Create modpack series. With Chosen doing Create Astral now I’m sure there will be increased interest in it ripe for someone like you to take advantage of. He’s a good builder and has good knowledge of lots of mods but he doesn’t have the finesse you do with optimized and aesthetic Create automations.
He already has create hardcore
@@dwr1001 I don’t see how your reply is relevant to my suggestion. I didn’t suggest a Hardcore Create video. I thought Rage’s best series was Create Above and Beyond and I’d love to see another long series like it. I’m personally not interested in either the 100 days or Hardcore formats. If this style of video is what he enjoys making now or is only what he has time to do then that’s fine. But I hope that he’s not doing this style or content now because he’s chasing the algorithm.
Rage’s Above and Beyond series felt like he was having the most fun doing it and really showed his creativity/skill while also being a great explanation of what was possible to in an expert level Create Modpack, similar to his earlier tutorial style content. At that time Chosen was a YTer with a bigger audience who approached the same modpack from a different angle and it was interesting to see him find his own (less efficient/elegant) solutions to the modpack quests. Given that Chosen has just started a new Create Astral series I’m sure there will be more interest in that modpack and since only a handful of folks have made any videos about it so far I think it would be a great opportunity for Rage to fill that void given his past experience.

Gotta say, Mojang needs to add a copper weapon that when struck by lightning, it becomes a charged sword, or other thing, and then it creates lightning damage, which can charge creepers, also, it stuns things for a second. Although, it can run out of charge, so you’d have to recharge it every once in a while.

Great vid but one question: how was the wheat farm not drying up near the start?
In Minecraft you don't need water to grow crops. If there is farmland with no crop it will dry up. Water mostly increases growth speed

Why did the iron golem start attacking you tho? Did instantly suffocating upon spawn somehow make it think you damaged it?
Honestly, I have no clue! The only thing I can think of is, as you said, when it took suffocation damage it somehow read that as me hitting it and started to attack me.

I think the original iron farm creator of that designs is ianxofour, you can look it up he made OP farms and very easy to make.

but there's this cool thing people with limited resources have been building since 2011

a mob farm
Lol you're not wrong, but building a mob farm in an expanding border world has some serious perks and also some serious drawbacks. Since the mobs can only spawn inside the border, its super nice as the area you are worried about spawnproofing is much smaller than normal even on Day 100. That said, its also a massive pain since you cant run through caves to light them up as the border cuts you off and you have to keep doing that day after day as the border expands basically making it a never ending job.

How do you do the world border thing?
You can either have a data pack made or do what I did (and most other youtubers), which is to put in command blocks way in the sky manually that are triggered by a daylight sensor to do the worldborder add command each day.
Rage can you write down how did you do that the border increses every day

Well no need to fear, I am back! We had a little holdup due to my editor being occupied for a fair bit of time once I finished recording back in January.
