Hello Simon, those platforms turned out pretty well 😍and definitely provide a good base for your excellent resin station buildings 👍 Having a station certainly adds to the play value 😁Very best wishes from the Emerald Isle ☘
I'm not much of a model maker so I sit on ebay and wait for something cheap to appear. Some of the buildings I have bought were less than a metcalfe kit so I'm very happy with that. Just got to make sure they all have their chimney pots. I think I only have 2 more shops to buy and I'm done with buying buildings. My next 2 tasks are to complete the canal and get some lighting in. I'm so far ahead of this video at the moment. But if you put them all out quickly where do you go from there?
Good Lord, you're another man who reads instructions!!!! I have to say that the finished article looks great. Not only impressive but realistic!!! I always have trouble imagining just how tiny N gauge actually is! Those shots of the Pullman pulling into the station are great too! I can remember, as a young kid, going on the "Broadstairs Belle" from Victoria. It looked just like that!!!
I wasn't reading them - I was showing them to the camera! I've made those platforms before so knew what I was doing. So much so I was watching poker on youtube at the same time. The big station is Sheffield Park, I managed to get the whole lot half price on ebay. N gauge is 1:144 but some countries in europe it's 1:160 so if you mix up rolling stock it can look a little weird. My main line has a scale length of 1.1 miles. Now if I could just get in the attic.......
Hi Simon, that must have taken some time to make all those stations, they look like good kits and very well assembled as well!!. The sleepers on the track look quite chunky when you focussed down onto the stations, they will look much better after adding ballast In my collection of Dublo I have some stations bridges and signal boxes, they are all die cast the scale is quite good but they lack the details what I like about them is the art deco appearance. ...... no sign of the fence posts yet!! Good luck from Spain!!
Hi David, the platforms are very easy to build. It's just measuring and cutting and then waiting for glue to dry. The station buildings are ready made out of resin. There is no way I could make those from a cardboard or plastic kit. All my buildings are ready made. They have come from ebay so I am paying considerably less than retail. I guess from people who started a layout and then gave up. Some of them have been bought for less than a brand new cardboard kit which makes it feel so much better! No fence posts yet but they are in. I did have a pile of sleeper fence posts but they were so fragile they kept breaking. Plastic it is I'm afraid.
It's surprising how sturdy cardboard and glue can be.

@@ngaugeonashelf4417 wouldn't the attic be a little steep from your box room???!!!
Well, you could have a gentle gradient up via the landing to the attic?????
@@nevillehubbard7347 The expensive bit is to insulate the attic so it's not too hot or too cold. Plus I would need permission from the boss!
@@ngaugeonashelf4417 well, that isn't going to happen, is it????

Hi Simon, I think you should go for a moon landing next, should be easy after building that. Looks god though. Ron
I am so far past that now. I wish you could pop round and see it. I've almost completed one whole side. Cheers Simon
