THANKS was such a game changer for me. As a former dancer who had to give it up due to medical reasons, it was really painful for a long time to watch choreography videos, but this one was just so beautiful. It was healing and helped me learn to appreciate the gift that others are sharing with me.
Seventeen's "Clap" is supposed to be all about how Seventeen are a self-produced group, so in the MV they are showing how they create everything themselves. In the MV it shows them creating the sets and holding meetings to discuss the production, and editing the video, etc. The lyrics are about how they hope people clap for them and they want to receive a lot of applause, etc. because they put a lot of effort into everything they do. Pretty much everything you see in the MV is a reference to something from a previous MV or something to do with Seventeen. So, if you really get to know Seventeen as a group, you will start to see how this MV connects to their other MVs. If you haven't yet you should definitely check out the dance practice for Clap. They created a special dance practice video that goes with the theme of the song. You really should see all the dance practices for all of their MVs.
As you probably noticed, in "Call Call Call" Seventeen are portraying three different types of biker gangs who are rivals. The members who are in the leather are supposed to be part of the more hardcore biker gang; the members who are in the really dapper suits, who are more clean cut, are supposed to be members of the scooter gang; and the third group are part of the tricked out, more fancy bike gang. Each of the motorcycle/scooter gangs represents the three units of Seventeen -- performance unit, vocal unit and hip-hop unit. They are all fighting to be the ones to answer the call of Carats and to fulfill our wish. If you look up an English translation of the lyrics, the whole story is much more clear.
Fun fact: they did make Clap like a playful song cause even the MV was paying homage to their title songs from debut to Clap through parallels/objects, alongside hinting Change Up, Lilili Yabbay, Trauma and Pinwheel. And yeah the last part was made to be more freestyle 'simon says', and they keep changing it every performance. I remember they even did the slut drop on stage and had no choice cause vernon did it so they had to follow it.
NGL because of *that* mingyu fancam, i forgot call call call actually has an mv😅 That live performance of clap is literally my favourite seventeen stage of all time.
rj ! What a delight. Thanks for putting a grin on my face the entire time. You're such a boss reactor--so calm & mellow but emphatically focused on our guys. I loved it.
Minghao in Call Call Call is such a power play, because what do you mean he is a Chinese man, in a Korean group, singing in JAPANESE ?!! Like come on, and he ate his verse up too 🙌🏾
Thanks is my second fav (fallin flower cannot be topped), but their Japanese songs are SO FREAKIN GOOD, like this one, happy ending, queen fallin flower, dream. they don't miss
Yes you have to watch them live!! I went to their concert 2 years ago so I’m hoping they do another tour next year at least. Because their military enlistment era is approaching!
I don't if you know this but there is seventeen "clap remix" version in which wonwoo rap is love😍👌!! And also vernon always does something new at that part in clap (since the clap is included in recent svt follow tour....FUN) !!😊
Its crazy cuz my original bias for Seventeen was Vernon and then it was Mingyu and then out of nowhere I don't even remember how it happened boom Wonwoo became my ult bias for Seventeen.
RJ is you haven't yet seen it ... Seventeen did a "pajama version" of Home. (One of my fav songs & choreos from them. So this was fun. ) And as an alternative to "Dont Wanna Cry", they have "Don't Wanna Laugh" ... such an entertaining & hard working group with amazing dynamics.
We love a Wonwoo bias. signed, a Wonwoo/DK bias lol... Also Choi Young jun is the main choreographer for most of Seventeen's title tracks that I know of, but I know Hoshi participates as well with I'm sure other input and fine tuning from other choreographers. He participated in Street Man fighter with 1Million and is incredibly talented and has a hand in MANY amazing pieces of choreography
I'd like to see you do some got7 live stage including japan concert tho 🤤 I've been here few days ago rewatch your reaction to other groups and it'd be great if you could do 'got7 best vocal/rap compilations' video just like the exo one 😊
@@rjkpop still you’re lucky because you may have a chance to see them but I’ll never see them unfortunately i live really far away 💔 …. And I don’t think they’re having a tour anytime soon maybe after their next comeback
even years later Thanks is still my favorite kpop dance practice
