-Quality control is the first issue, the drone should be right the first time. Not having to return it and hope for a better one to be sent back!

Hello, today I flew the HS720R for the first time. Did all the calibrations and again before flying did a compass calibration. The first few minutes everything was going great. I was in L camera mode then switched to M to get a bit more speed. All of a sudden it had a mind of its own and started to do wider and wider circles. Was worried it was going to crash into a house, car or the school I was near ! it ended up crashing into some trees. Anyone that is thinking about this model should read some of the reviews. Some look perfect but so many with this same experience and in my opinion, one out of control experience is more than enough to pass this by. I have been flying drones for 10 years now so it is not lack of experience or preparation. something was and is not right for this to happen. RTH even the kiss button did not work. Even turned off the controller hoping to force RTH.... Your Decision, just my warning and experience.

Hello everyone, I had a Lemon. And yes 👍 could of got a replacement and have done a proper review. My point is it should of been right the first time. For 300+ usd , the drone needs to work.
-I am tired of all the faulty drones. I know this happens with every product out there made. With toy drones, this happens way too often.
-Due to Quality control and older technology for there gps compass systems. This is my opinion and experience. Feel free to start ripping me in the comments. This will not change my opinion, I’m trying to help save you money. This is why I started this channel, the be honest and not try to make money off something that does not work right. So sorry I can not Recommend this HS720R at this time. Thanks 🙏

that was nuts!! i picked up the HS360s about a month ago.. that one is rock solid.. has a direct cable connection to your phone rather than wifi. no lag, and so far zero glitches!.. hope your replacement performs way better than this one!

I was not expecting that from an over $300 GPS Camera drone. That was unacceptable, I hope can sort it out or get a replacement. You did everything you could to give the drone a second chance. Great honest review Donnie, thanks for sharing.

@@RonaldBrown59 just get tired of the same problems, just different drone body style. Same manufacturer I’m sure they all use for there gps systems.
I got the G model and the first time I put it up I only did a geomagnetic calibration and it did something like that minus the not shutting off I was able to bring it back to me and shut off and I read where you have to do a compass calibration also where the drone would be on a flat surface and find north and after that the drone flew very good I am a beginner so I can’t fly the drone like you guys yet but it was able to do everything I wanted it to do. I only have one fear factor and that is the wind while it is up in the sky.
Mine ascends and descends vertically just fine. It's when I begin trying to maneuver forward or back that it begins drifting. I suspect there is an issue in the transmitter and/or the drone receiver such that signals are incomplete or are occurring in burst type mode; incomplete signal. Power lines might influence it as well. So far not comfortable with it in 'close quarters' but will try it in a much more open space once I get a calm day.
Does anyone have footage of the cameras capabilities aside from the 90 degree vertical axis? Curious as to the other two axis physically and functionally performance.
I bought the HS720G last week. It runs great and have not experienced any issues like I see in your video. The only issue I had was, when it got to 100 feet, the controller would turn red and say it's not connected, although I was still able to control it. So, I put a return in to send it back and I purchase the HS720R. This is where your video is scaring me. I hope I don't experience the same issues. It will be here today, so I will take it out to the field and test it tomorrow. I did see a video where another youtuber had the same issues. He put his phone in airplane mode, and it corrected the problem. So, I did the same the other night and was able to climb to almost 200 feet and then brought it back down as that was way too high and scared that the wind might just take it away. Of course, I have already did the return, so I'll just hope and see if the 720R performs as well as the 720G. Thank you for your video and wish I saw it before I ordered the 720R.
Well hopefully they got a hold of all there early recalls. Still see a few faulty ones making there way on RUclips. So I’m not alone
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC My HS720R came in Friday, and I flew it all weekend without issues. I think you and a few other just got some bad drones. I am glad I got a good one as it has been fun flying this thing all over the neighborhood. I can even fly it down to the park to watch my granddaughter play and it's 3 blocks away. The only question I have is why anyone would fly a budget drone higher than 100 feet. I got mine to 250 feet and that is way too high to see anything. I do love the distance. thanks for your videos

@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC There must be something going on with their quality control bro, cause in my case the 720G flew perfectly and took some great video had no issues and is still my favourite Holystone drone out of them all. Hopefully Holystone up their game in the QC dept

Thanks for your honest review. Yeah, these drones are just a dangerous flying toy. The technology they use are ok for RC cars, but when you have 4 high speed props on a runaway😲😣👎👎

I’ve got the 720e. I’ve had it for a year but I’ve never really flown it because it doesn’t seem stable and I’m terrified. It will just disappear as soon as I do any height. At first, as a new flyer, I obviously thought it was Lee and didn’t send it back as a potential lemon.
You just never know, my hs720e was great and others were bad. There’s a lot of people like yourself in a lot of our Facebook HolyStone groups. So many people, it’s unreal. Gps compass problems with a lot of there models.
I'm watching this now. I had zero issues with mine so far on two flights so we had very different experiences. It seems like yours is definitely defective. You can only spend so much time on a drone before you have to mail it in and call it a day. I definitely appreciate the honesty

Oh copy, ya I’m just burnt out of these 300 dollar drones having lemons. Should be right the first time, the mini se is right and it’s a hundred bucks more. Better to save and spend the extra money for something that is right the first time.
@@BIGDRONEFLYER77RC very true though my brand new DJI Mini 2 was bad right out of the package. It has a bad motor cable so one engine wouldn't spin up so I had to mail it back to DJI and wait two weeks
@@RDsRCReviews yeah it sucks and it does happen to the professional ones too. my mavic air2 as well. But it’s spot on and I bet yours is as well. Mine needed a fire ware adjustment. My point is, these toys just have those problems way more often is all. And like yourself I’ve flown hundreds of drones and seen this so many times. Just hoping for a change in the toy industry. Just keep it simple again!
I couldn't even find out how bad the compass was on my HS720R, it wouldn't bind with the transmitter.
This Chinese company lies, there still messed up and not fixed. I wash my hands with these companies. Cheers
Honestly, i also promoted holy stone drones, of all the Holy stone products, its only the Hs700e works and flies perfect, very stable without any issues, Hs720e works good from first to 5th flight and after that it fly's on its own, just like Darth Vader that has mind of its own 😊, and now that Latest HS drone drone, that seems the predecessor of Hs720e

Got mine, started out first 2 flights ok
3rd flight, flew it 800ft away. Disconnected, but did not return home. Just started disconnected. No video footage. Started walking toward where I flew it. Couldn’t see it. Finally saw it hovering about 150 ft in the air. Started walking towards it, as soon as it connected, said battery low, drone shut down, fell out of the sky in to a tall tree
Never did return to home as it’s suppose to.
The 1.8 mile range is bogus. You MAY get 1/3 off a mile if you are totally line site.
Also, you get 26 minutes of flight time, maybe, and then it takes 5-7 hours to recharge. And yes, I called to ask because I thought my battery was bad, they told me it states in the manual, 5-7 hours per recharge. So don’t plan any fun drive days. Unless you only have 26 minutes to kill. Then you can use it again tomorrow
I wanted to like this drone, but after all of the charging times, nowhere CLOSE to the max distance and then it just falling out of the sky instead of returning

It’s gotten to where a lot of companies do that. Release crappy products hoping most won’t say anything. I wrote a review and holystone contacted me within hours and asked if they sent me another battery so I wouldn’t have to wait so long for the other to charge, would that work. I said no, that won’t help only going a third of the max distance you advertised and that won’t fix the hovering 120 feet in the air disconnected while I’m standing under it until it falls from the sky

So from a little bit of research, I find that holy stone isn't necessarily just a little kid toy brand, it looks like they have a line up of drones that seem to be okay (hs720r looks to be the best bang for your buck so far) but I do understand why people say that it is a toy brand. Some of the drones that they offer, most of them being under 370 dollars, seem to be more aimed towards the consumer that is looking for a drone with a decent camera. Most people looking to spend a little more than 250 dollars are most likely going for the drones they offer that are more near the 350 dollar range. At that point, you might as well go with DJI but what can I say, different people have different preferences. 😂

I bought my son the HS720E nearly four years ago. To my surprise he had never flown it, scared I guess. So I took it out at the end of August and after 6 short flight it tweaked out like that and impacted the ground upside down. Broke the housing and dented a part on the inside that is taped to the upper housing. Holystone is not real helpful in getting me a parts breakdown to order any parts other than the wings and arms. Does anybody have a parts listing or extra parts to try and use as replacements? Holystone was willing to offer 15% off on a new drone. Think I’ll go a different route if I cant get parts.

Appears to be toilet-bowling. Not that you should have to but taking it out of GPS mode in flught should allow you to regain control and land. If this is the 720R I'll probably stick with my HS600 with which I've had no problems.

The early models were bad. I got a bad one about a month ago. My replacement is good.
Thanks Jake, I was offered a replacement. Unfortunately I did not to take it. After 4 years, I had decided to walk away. I been sent to many lemons over the years. Maybe my bad luck as a reviewer? Tired of them wanting me to make the drone look better then they really are. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are some of there products that work great I’m sure. I just don’t want anything to do with these drones anymore. They wrote me several times to take my videos down and I refused until they do a recall. HolyStone tried saying that they had the bad drones isolated to USA shipments only . That was on true, and they were distributed out to Europe mostly in the UK. So there very dangerous and you have no control over flight with the bad batches of drones. Anyways it goes a lot more further then that. With this HS controller, if you can not control the drone you Must switch the GPS switch on the right side to Off, it will stay steady . Then when it's under your control again switch the gps back on and see if it is now steady

Got the 720G and the flyaways are crazy, keep recalibrated and still screws up don’t use any more can’t trust it. $300 down the drain.

Wish i saw this before i bought mine. First time flying it it went rogue and fleww away on its own no control of it and crashed and broke a arm off
When the drone starts to go out of control Please, turn off the GPS switch to regain control

Yes, I have a galaxy s20 I use for comparison to my iPhone.
I suspect the church has a high power 2.4ghz access point that interfered with the wifi signal. I bought a hs360s totally different app and the controller is way more dji'isk. Never one instance of anything flaky flying wise. Camera isn't on a gimbal it's only real issue
This reminds me of my original 720. These things are dangerous at best. Spend the extra 40 bucks and get a DJI mini 2se save yourself a headache and possible lawsuit.

I have owned all the holy Stone drone there's supposed to return if loss of signal or battery is low that didn't happen it flew away pretty much like this one did I think the holy Stones need to go back to the drawing board and build a proper drone I also noticed was the r-series they change the controller I also miss the landing light cuz I fly at night a lot I wish the holy Stones lived up to their expectations but they seem to be all glitchy and lemons

Yup on airplane mode, no work, no fun, still a problem with all these models. Believe me it’s trash, this one sent to me. I always fly using airplane mode, don’t need other apps going and phone calls. Cheers and thanks for trying🤩👍
