    Interview Transcript:
Alright everybody. We're still checking out Audio Advice Live, and I found a very sweet surprise from Dali. Some of you have heard of the new Dali Core, which is their reference series speaker, but the Core line is growing, and now they have created the EpiKore, which I believe you told me this is the first time it's being shown?
    That's correct.
Which is fantastic, and that's a very good testament to Audio Advice as a partner for you guys, no doubt.
    Indeed.
But I'm joined by Travis here, and he is the Dali expert, so I'm going to let him break down, why Dali decided to add to the Kore line and what the EpiKore is going for here, but I can tell you it looks beautiful and sounds much the same.
    Travis, thank you.
You bet, you bet, thank you. Part of Dali's 40 year anniversary last year was to celebrate the years of technology that Dali has brought to the table. But the celebratory piece was the Kore, and the Kore speakers are $110,000 a pair US. It's a testament 40 years of technology that Dali has been providing us.
Um,  But at, at $110,000, um, the next speaker in the range would be the Epicon. 📍 Uh, Which tops out around $30,000. And so the idea here with the EpiKore is to bridge the gap and offer more, uh, mid to high end, uh, speaker technology throughout a range of $30,000 up, up into $110,000. These are $60,000 a pair. Uh, the EpiKore 11. And so, they are not replacing the Epicon. We're actually squeezing another series in between.
    Smoothing out the product range.
Smoothing out the product range. And so, this is the first of more EpiKore to come. I believe we'll have another piece that's below the $60,000 range, but in essence, it's tried and true to the to the unique, proprietary technology of Dali. From the wood pulp drivers, to the dual tweeter with proprietary crossover. Beyond that, what Dali is exceptionally known for is their build quality. They make all of these speakers in house, and we have a new furniture factory that we basically crossed over to a speaker cabinet building factory.
    That's fantastic.
Yeah, so we're doing everything in house. The wood fiber obviously is super lightweight and rigid, keeps the speakers running super cool. And, the other magnet technology that they have is SMC, which is another way to really keep the speaker running cool, which obviously constitutes a lot less distortion.
So as heat rises, distortion rises eventually to a point of becoming a serious issue, correct?
Absolutely. Yeah. And it degrades the speaker over time as well. So, you're talking about a speaker here that's going to last, and last, and last. So it's yeah, the new EpiKore 11 from Dali.
So a speaker that can last like this, you add this to your family, they'll be keeping it for generations, kind of thing.
    Indeed.
    That's fantastic.
Wouldn't you like to be the son or daughter that gets the hand me down, right?
    I would!
Travis, thank you so much, man. Looks like an awesome product, and I can't wait to demo it a little bit. I'll share with you guys my thoughts on listening to the awesome EpiKore here in just a little while, but thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more Audio Advice Live.

They were pretty good. The price is a bit of a head scratcher if you ask me but they certainly do sound good.

Excellent question. Unfortunately I’m not sure if Dirac was being used or not. Definitely going to keep this thought in mind for next time. Thank you!

Respectfully, I doubt it was the Epikore. These are only just starting to get delivered to customers in limited quantity. Likely a different Dali model.
